Off Topic Best booze over Xmas/New Year?

Discussion in 'The Premier League' started by Hoddle is a god, Jan 3, 2016.

  1. Hey, lads! I've just found a bottle of Chateauneuf-du-Pape (2011) hiding in the kitchen! Obviously, I've just opened it and am now in the process of making it my last bottle before tomorrow's return to the mill-stone.

It's up there with the bottle of 35 year old Oban that I treated myself to, ahead of the festivities.

What's been your prime booze moment over the break?

I've been drinking Tin Cup whiskey with ginger beer which has been nice and Havana Club 7 year with coke.
Had some good wine but not as good as a 2011 Version of what you mentioned.
10 & 11 were good years the 14 I had for Christmas day was good but not great. Been a few poor years in France on the bounce.

I only drink wine from my estate in Italy. It's harvested by a team of Yetis and flown to my estate in England by the Red Arrows.

Must be pretty churned up by the time those ****ers have flown it over!...

Not sure I'd want yetis harvesting my grapes either. Could be a bit harsh on the vines!...

I have Peter Pan and the Lost Boys tread the grapes in my vineyard on the moon, and then I get a herd of unicorns to transport the wine to me. I then get Marilyn Monroe to serve it, whilst Elvis prepares dinner.

Of course it is - and if it isn't I will go back and edit it and hope no-one will notice, or if they do I will say I posted it on purpose as a self depreciating WUM

it seems to work for you :)

... my grape vines are left to mature between Kardashian buttocks where they are inconspicuous amongst the purple haemorrhoids until being harvested by merry Inuits and stored in igloos for a whole season whilst the ice crystals in the grapes form perfect snowflakes ... only once the crystals have fully melted is the brew stored in old sanatogen barrels for a further 12 months ...

... it is then bottled and sold to HIAG as 'top end' classic French wine <laugh>

The best booze I had over the holidays was the Pale Ale I drank in The Coronet on Holloway Road before going to watch the Arsenal play Newcastle
