What a change yesterday to have a ref who let the game flow and didn't try to be centre of attention like some recent fools.

Seems like tomorrow might be stop start…

    Referee: Peter Bankes
Linesmen: Michael Denton and Duncan Street
    Fourth Official: Nigel Miller

Match Day referee Bankes is yet to officiate a Hull game this season.

He has however already taken in 20 other matches so far in 2015-16 and in those games, across all competitions and Football divisions, he has handed out a total of 82 yellow cards and one red card.

He was most card happy in the match between Birmingham City and Reading on August 8 with a total of nine yellows being shown.

And ooooo he's refereed at lower levels than the championship too. He'll be a tit guaranteed...

Mark Clattenburg is the best referee in the Prem IMO. And he has been very lucky for us. We generally win when he's in charge. I always remember him sprinting off the field at the end of our playoff win over Watford to avoid the field invasion. Good man!

Yes... strangely the best referees always turn up when we win 3-0

I said at the game it was so refreshing to see top quality officiation of one of our games. He let it flow, kept the cards away and managed to keep control of the game throughout. Came in, did his job and left - not grabbing the headlines for all the wrong reasons.

yea I was surprised at that one too, even more so, on the rare occasion of 10 premier league matches on the same day, we get one of the best referees in the country imo

Even my old man was complimentary about him.

In between moaning about LVG, Mourihno and Klopp.

We would always whinge about the referees in the premier league, but just compare Clattenberg yesterday to that useless clown we had against Reading. Shows the distance in class.

Clattenberg is the best in the country imo since Webb retired. And that's not just after yesterday, it's a view I've always held. Everton fans hate him but whenever I've seen him he's kept good control, got most things right and has his head on his shoulders with regards letting some petty things go that other refs would get into a spunky mess about. Crowds never seem to get to him either.

Clattenberg was a decent ref irrespective of the score imo. Let the game flow and didn't get sucked in to either side's play acting.

The game wasn't filled with incident though and it would be interesting to see how he would have coped with dodgy penalty decision. That said same with any other ref.

I do like him reffing as he isn't too whistle happy. Makes it a better game to watch

Mark Clattenburg is a proper referee who has good dialogue with the players throughout the game.

He has a shocker every week. He's so far off the pace that he gives himself all sorts of trouble when having to make decisions.

My stream wasn't good enough for me to have an opinion on the ref but I did notice it was Clattenburg. He always seems really good when he refs us. Same with Howard Webb when he was still involved. Can't understand why he doesn't get the big games any more and Anthony Taylor, who does something laughable every week, seems to get big games all the time.

I think big club fans don't like him. He's had some high profile bad days with the likes of Rooney. Can't really remember the details but I remember it was a bit exaggerated cos it was big names and teams involved.
