My first single was 'Something Else' by the Sex Pistols. 1979? I bought it in Harlequin records which was next door to the Shepherds Bush Metropolitan line station, opposite the market and a few doors down from Parksy's. I remember playing the B-side, it was called 'Friggin in the riggin.' I couldn't believe my ears. There was swearing on a record! I played it to death, but only when my mum and dad weren't about.

My first album was Madness - Absolutely. It was released in 1980 and the first album I could afford. They also did a series of matinee gigs at the Hammersmith Odeon and it was only a pound to get in. That was my first ever concert and I was aged 13.

I bet they were Mull of Kintyre and a K-Tel Top of the Pops covers compilation and you've suppressed the memory. You can get counselling for that, and probably compensation.

My wife has seen them 3 times on their latest/last tour. I saw them once, and got told off for sitting down and playing with my phone for a good chunk of it. Just not my thing, but undoubtedly fantastic professionals and at two hours great value for money - good job for the cost of them. And a drum solo! Apparently they really didn't like playing IoW.

First single - Terry by Twinkle. I think it must have had something to do with the name!

First Album - ? I really can't remember, but it may have been the Equals. I really hope though that it was Bridge Over Troubled Waters or Sergeant Peppers! What I bought as opposed to my brother or sister is a mystery to me!

Still love The Boxer, Only Living boy in New York & She's Leaving home from those albums though!

First single - the free electric band by Albert Hammond in 1973.
First Album - Queen by Queen also 1973.

I was 10 at the time and had a part time job so splashed out on some vinyl. Still have the Queen album.
