Don Howe died today aged 80. He had a long standing association with Arsenal, being first a player, then a coach that helped us to win the double in 1971, later he became our manager, which was when I first started going to watch Arsenal. Although he wasn't very successful as manager, his contribution to Arsenal and England was immense. RIP Don Howe http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/35171937 please log in to view this image
Always sad to see your childhood heroes die...but he'll always be a gooner legend and hopefully that'll be a great source of pride to his relatives and friends. Enjoy your memories of him and raise your glass and toast his achievements.
I liked this guy....he was a proper footballing chap, talked a good one about the game and another icon of the 80's/90's when I was growing up. RIP
