There was a sense of hope around Anfield when manager Jurgen Klopp was appointed to replace the much maligned Brendan Rodgers. This has been replaced by frustration in the last few weeks as results have gone against the reds.

Klopps plan was simple, hard work was the order and at first it seemed to work as Liverpool impressed.

So what has happened? Why the drop in workrate and enthusiasm from the players?

Martin Skrtel was the first to give us some insight in a recent interview with Nuts Magazine.
"It has been difficult to adapt to the new managers regime, it involves a lot of running!"

So is this the problem and how do Liverpool and Klopp overcome this obstacle?

Alberto Moreno was much more positive, "I like running and think it's an important part of the game, I have been told that I have to think a little more and remember the ball when I'm running as it is also important."

Moreno has been one of the few players who has taken Klopps message to heart.

Others though are not so keen.

Daniel Sturrige has spent a lot of time on the treatment table and was quick to condemn the new regime. "All this running about isn't good for me, it's no wonder I'm always injured! Why do we have to run can't we pass it about a bit more and look all pretty like we did with Brendan?"

James Milner has been captain in place of Jordan Henderson who was sidelined through a running injury and he was very vocal on the subject. "Run, run, run all ****ing day and then all the time through the game it's ****! I get tired and want a rest but the manager just wants all this effort and commitment, it's not bloody athletics we're overpaid footballers who need to do Nivea adverts! If I'm all sweaty they'll use Lallana instead of me again.

There was a bright light at the end of the tunnel though as Lucas leapt to the defence of the new regime.
"Lucas run, Lucas smash, Lucas run again!"

You mean that the whole of Klopp's revolutionary "philosophy" is based on running more than your opponents ? This is what will take us to the promised land ? :bandit:
