No new names to speculate on today. So here comes the rant.... 8 matches without a win, averaging 0.5 points per game. At least with Kit, we had some nice surprises: QPR, Reading, Bristol. It was crass stupidity to fire Kit without having an alternative and also Plan B to back that up. Shahid Khan's page in the programme last week was small font with a lot of words, but frankly I do not believe it. FFC needed to stop prevaricating - just pay enough money to appoint Monk or whosoever to stop this rot. However, picking up on SBM's post, who the hell is going to put up their CV if the management team is a shambles and cannot demostrate the competance required to support a new manager with any stature. Alternatively let's start planning to settle down to being a nice League One team.
Completely agree. It's hard to believe the club could be so stupid, but the evidence is certainly mounting.
On Radio 5 Live this morning they said we're about to appoint Jokanovic. If the report was right, we've agreed terms with him, but just need to sort out details with his current club, Macabi Tel Aviv. I seem to remember he was on the original list of names that circulated as our supposed shortlist, and that after Paul Lambert I thought he was one of the better options. All of which means I should be pleased if this is true. I am, I suppose, but I just wish we could have confirmed him several weeks ago.
Yeah, but no sooner does that come out than there's another one saying talks have stalled (compensation to Maccabi) and we're back in for Steve Holland. Could be truth in the Holland thing because he was definitely in Fulham yesterday!!
A story from The Sun via Twitter, again heading toward Slavisa Jokanovic FULHAM hope to unveil Slavisa Jokanovic as their new manager this week. The Championship club are in talks with Maccabi Tel Aviv over compensation for the Serb, 47. Jokanovic was set to take charge of the Israelis for a final time last night before sealing his return. He guided Watford to promotion last season but was replaced soon after contract talks collapsed. Now he is ready to head back to land the Craven Cottage job — and end Fulham’s long search for Kit Symons’ replacement. Nigel Pearson, Mark Warburton and Steve Clarke all rejected the job. And although Jokanovic was always a target, he could not move until his side were knocked out of the Champions League. He could be unveiled at Fulham’s Boxing Day clash at Derby. Ex-Swansea boss Garry Monk is the club’s back-up plan.
