Paddy Power need to watch themselves. They quite often say things that are very close to the bone, and they act on the premise that nobody will take offence because it's only a joke. Well someone, someday, won't laugh.

Saying that though, I suppose they are an appropriate company to balance the odds on whether someone will react or not.

On that subject, Sepp Blatter wrote to all the FIFA countries explaining his view. It's actually possible that he sees no infringement in what he has been doing for the last 40 years since he started working for them. The very recent Panorama programme was a good summary of all that has gone on. Here it is again for those who didn't see it first time round:

As a former footballer, Platini really should be ashamed of himself.

BBC Sport put up a headline which said they had been banned for EIGHTY years. They very quickly reworded it to say LENGTHY bans. :)

FIFA's powers are only limited to football. Most people cough up fines because they wish to continue in football. To regain any money they suspect stolen, FIFA would have to go to a court of law. Laws of evidence may be stricter there....and it could cost a lot of money in lawyers' fees.

    UEFA are standing by Platini!

Guess they will also stand by Jimmy Saville and Stuart Hall.

Two more down. Seems like many left to go but the Swiss and US don't look to be finished yet.
