Great post. As I said at the start of the thread, i've made peace with the inevitable. It needs everybody to pull together and it's never going to happen. All the best to our future generations who'll suffer at the hands of our destruction. It's not just counties either, it's individuals like protesters to renewable power sources because it spoils their view, driving walkable distances and Steve Bruce farts.
I was in Hong Kong for 3-years, they are a hardy people who have had to survive on virtually nothing, hence them eating anything that could walk, crawl, Fly or swim. As with anywhere there are the good and the bad and generally most were OK. What is a worry though is the communist government and the Chinese people's general lack of interest in the environment, they just do not care. There was a canal at the end of the runway at Kai Tak where anything and everything, including every chemical known to man was seemingly poured into it. It was so bad that the smell seemed to burn the hairs off of your nostrils. That was 25-years ago, but I would bet that that has been the case all over China since then and up to now. Check out as well how much fake goods are pouring out of that country, they copy absolutely anything and again do not care about the consequences. The BBC programme 'fake Britain' highlighted the fake mobile phones made in China that are swamping the world. Fake & dangerous with some phones that could explode & catch fire; They also have been making fake aeroplane spares for years, remember that when next in a plane! The Chinese communist government have an agenda. They asked their Generals in the 80's on how to beat the West. The Generals replied that, to beat the West, first beat them economically then they can be beaten militarily; hay ho, they have, with the help of the likes of the Fat knacker Mike Ashley and other so called entrepreneurs, flooded the West with genuine and fake goods, which has crippled the manufacturing industries of most other companies. They have beaten us economically and are moving to the next phase, just as they are in the South China Sea and the Pacific. Many countries there are turning to the USA and Australia in trying to oppose the relentless Chinese land (and coral island) grabs. Notice in the footage the Chinese have no qualms about destroying coral reefs, as I said at the beginning, they don't care. We should remember 4-things about the Chinese communist party: 1. They hate losing face, 2. They have long memories 3. they have not forgotten the treatment they received by the British in the opium wars. 4. They really, really don't give a **** about anyone or anything else but themselves and they want to control the world. Their downfall is that they don't care about the environment and so are poisoning millions upon millions of their own with smog and chemical pollution. Their health system IMO and for what it is, will collapse in years to come. Still most people in the UK are so ignorant of what is going on, they mirror the Chinese and they just don't care. Happy Xmas. let's all enjoy the plastic sea we call the high street, yuk! Ba humbug
Wind farms. I have no problem with them but I'm left wondering if electricity prices will fall seeing as what they churn out is essentially for nowt. The utility companies are greedy bastards. I've started changing my 11w cfl bulbs for 5w led's. Penny pinching maybe but every penny less I have to pay to them bastards gives me a sense of satisfaction. Plus I'm paying that ****er Osbourne less in VAT & doing my very small bit for the environment.
5w LED's produce more illumines, (light) than a old 60w incandescent bulb & have a life expectancy of 30,000 hours. It's actually brighter than the 11w CFL, they light to their full brightness instantly unlike CFL's, & don't have the switching on/off drawbacks that CFL's do. You'll probably never have to replace one & they don't even get slightly warm.
Watts dosn't mean how much light a bulb throws out mate, illumines tell you that. All watts mean is the draw on your power usage.. You can get 5w LED's at Tesco for £6 but that's for a bog standard bayonet fitting. LED's have been in use for years. That's what lights your digital clock. the lights on your car dashboard. Car manufacturers are regularly using them for head & tail lamps now.
I met a Chinese girl when I was inShanghai , I asked her if she could escort me for a city tour and asked for her mobile number, so I could call her. She got excited and said: "sex sex sex, wan free sex for tonigh". Wow, I'm guessing this is how Chinese women express their hospitality! But then my friend interpreted it for me, and told me what she really said : 666136429
