Do we think this is a genuine opportunity to get a discount over full price seasons or is it just a cynical attempt to front load revenue, possibly ahead of a sell off? And who the hell are the Supporters Consultation Committee and why haven't they consulted me, a season ticket holder of 50+ years? I must admit I fear the worst.
I was going to say, it feels like this season isn't long started and it is normally June before people fork out for ST's. It's not even Christmas yet. Wonder what's going on.
I think it's you being cynical mate. The owners have written off around £250m in shareholder loans - do you really think they have a sneaky plan to rip-off season-ticket holders, whose joint annual 'investment' totals around £5m?
This is from Clive Whittingham who attended one of the meetings where this was discussed. Beth may have attended this one as well, I'm not sure. She should be able to confirm this. '' Most clubs start selling their tickets earlier, it's only QPR who do it in a rush in the summer. Hoos wanted to address that. It gives people a longer period to pay over, it gives them more options to stagger payments which might make people more inclined to buy one. It also rewards loyalty, because you get those prices now whatever division we're in. The prices are going up about a tenner across the board, give or take. It's good news. We have a proper CEO guys, get used to it.''
I checked the cost of my 'gold' Ellerslie seat for 16/17 and the discounted cost for a renewal is £536. Back in June I paid £507 for 15/16 which included this season's discounted rate. So unless I'm missing something it looks like I have to pay slightly more for my season ticket AND have to fork out 3 months before I had to last time around AND without knowing what standard of football I'll be watching for the first time ever. Should we get promoted this will probably look like a bargain but in all other situations it seems like I'm worse off than before. Happy for anyone else to correct this if I have things wrong.
Look at the. Leicester ST prices. Under £500 for a renewal. You pays your money you takes your choice.
if you pay for your ticket in instalments you don't start paying until August, 10 payments and a small amount of interest.
The Supporters Consultation Comittee is a group of individual season ticket holders, from each area of the ground, who the club asked to liaise with to bounce ideas off of. I am one of them, but we don't represent the fans, we are a group of individuals who the club talk to to gauge opinion. On the season tickets I believe that it is a genuine attempt by the club to do things more professionally than they have in the past. It may well front load revenue to a degree but we don't have to renew until the end of March to get the prices offered.
Thanks Sussex. I'm sure you're doing an admirable job. I'm happy with the idea of the club making tickets available whenever they want to but can you explain why the Committee bought into the idea of existing ST holders having to pay 3 months earlier than ever before in order to get discounted renewal prices? I can't see an up side other than for the club itself.
I have a sneaking feeling we will be watching Premier League football at LR next season...just put some dosh on it and Im not a betting man......
In the past I think some people were unhappy at very late S/T renewal prices and lack of (or limited) early bird prices like we used to have years ago. From the clubs perspective they are offering prices without knowing which league we'll be in. If, and I know it's a big if, we should go up we will have premier league S/t's at this seasons prices. I'm not aware if the details (or the cost) of the finance options but that could help offset paying earlier. I will be looking at it for myself to see if it's worth it. My opinion is the early offer is a positive thing, but others may have a different view
To be fair this is what fan focussed clubs do, give loyal fans the chance to buy early. But usually at parity or discount to current prices.
Well now you are a betting man and a very brave one too. is it Derby in the playoffs? Stranger things have happened!!
I know its early days with JFH but just see a marked improvement in our so called PL players. We have the team in the league with the greatest potential imo and yes we only have to come 6th to get the ball rolling. Ive watched a lot of the so called best teams in the league against Rangers and on sky and if we can continue with performances like Tuesday we have nothing to fear...
Have you factored in losing Austin? Top strikers are hard to find, and the rest of our team seem to be shy or inept in front of goal
Thanks Finglas, I've been a bit busy, despite having retired a few months ago. I have of course been lurking in the background and reading the message board, just not posting much. I'll try to do better as a new year resolution maybe.
