Got MotM yet again last night. Preston drew 1-1. This lad is causing quite a stir. Think we can expect him to be our Number 1 next season or lose him as over clubs will be sniffing.

Anyway. Just the 12 clean sheets for him so far this season

I'm sure Sam will get him sorted on a new contract. He has more confidence, and is more commanding, than Pants. despite the size difference.

I'd sell Vito in January - he has gone 'mentally' for us, sadly - needs a fresh start abroad.

I've a feeling he won't be playing for SAFC by the time he's 24.

It's where he parries the ball to which shows his quality.

Which I think is one of Pant's weaknesses IMO.

There are plenty of good shot stoppers up and down the leagues. What impressed me most about the videos was him barking at his defence. Skilled goal keepers are ten a penny but skilled goal keepers with a character big enough to fill the goal are a needle in a haystack. Hopefully Pickford has the character to go with the fast gloves.

The assist is also something that would make him stand out.

He'll be number one next season if we go down. Number two if we stay up.

Who knows? It would be great for the club if he was made number one and he was brilliant. Being his age and English he would be worth a fortune. The club needs assets.

Pickford and Watmore. Maybe Gooch and Beadling to follow. I'm very excited about our young players coming through. I've got visions of us being one of the clubs that starts to produce a lot of quality young footballers. I've always wished for this and now the academy seems to have got it right and it looks like it's about to pay dividends.

I've been saying we could be on the verge of a golden generation for quite a while, just needed a manager with the stones to bring them through. Sam's had no qualms in putting his faith in Duncan. Bodes very well indeed.

Pickford will be No 1 jn January.

Sam believes defence is key to success, and the start of the defence is the keeper. Pants is OK but for his height he has no command and his kicking is woeful!

Pickford will be back with us and No 1.

Great vids funk - the save through the crowd of players is world class (as are a number of them) on the last vid! The biggest issue with him is the confidence - he is playing ina confident team at the moment. He comes back here and, despite how well he plays, we lose a few games (which we inevitably do) and his confidence starts to ebb away and he turns out to be no better than what we have currently! I do rate Pantilimon TBH - out of form (and, as I say, confidence) but he is a good keeper. Out of luck as well at the moment - weekend's game their shot in the 4th minute bobbled and deflected into the net - we had 6 or 7 which missed the post by inches or were saved - shows where we are compared to where Watford are!!

Yeah but plenty questioned Watmore's confidence of playing in a poor team but he lifts everyone. Preston's first 10 games this season went like this. W1-D4-L5. In that period of 10 games he kept 3 clean sheets and was largely responsible for many a point on the board. In the 11 games following that 10, Preston have conceded 4 goals. So he's performed in a poor performing team from the very off, what's more he's grown with the team as they've improved. Preston have gone from an average championship team with a good keeper to a decent championship team with an excellent keeper.

Hungry confident youngsters tend to be fearless and often teach the seniors a thing or two.

My one worry happens to be decission making, as it's it's something that comes with experiance for a keeper which he needs to develop his decision making. But given the clip of pants and Vito in the that area, it doesn't bother me. He may already be up to their standard we won't know unill I can see more of him.

I hope we bring him back, chuck him in(Pants has been bang average so far this season) Have a word with Gooch and Beadling telling them not to let their standards drop and they'll be joining them soon.
