If we are taking it seriously, then we should win. If we are farting around, because we have a match come the Sunday after, then we will be hoping a bit, as our squad isn't big enough to put two quality teams out. So in typical Spurs fashion it depends on the mental preparation....either way hope our young team is hungry enough.
We had more crap games last year. I'm hoping this is a dip we are in and they will start waking up soon.
So are Leicester and Fiorentina our official cup teams? I guess it gives us 2 chances to undo last season's disappointments anyway.
Currently (with Leicester's game against Chelsea ongoing) the top team in England and the second team in Italy. That's having played the second placed team in England in the other domestic cup. Great draws...
Will be a good tie over 2 legs...should have beat them last time out...Soldado missed an easy chance to set up Chadli in the away leg and we made a bad defensive mistake for their second goal. In the first leg at home we should have won but didn't take our chances. We were also kind of distracted by the cup final v chelsea.
Spurs in Europa are like Arsenal in the CL, always get through the groups but useless in the knockout rounds.
At some point in the near future, the term "bad defensive mistake" will be replaced with "Fazio played that season"
The competition is spoiled because it has to play second fiddle to the CL. If it was played on a Wednesday as it should be, clubs could take it more seriously and put out stronger teams. The only reason to play it on Thursdays is to suit the media who have basically bought football to sell their companies. Such a shame I like football.
