I didn't see the game and I couldn't follow this thread today as I was watching my lad play hockey. I'm glad I couldnt. I've just read this thread and we have so many tactical genius fans, I'm amazed Ron still has the job. It was a bit of an eye opener reading the thread "blind" and I have to say that it wasn't great reading. Too many people expecting games with no errors, no players ever getting caught out of position and see a football match as if it's a game of chess where you take your time between moves having looked around at what's happening. I find some of the posts staggeringly arrogant or ignorant. I think it's a shame. We have a great club and we have been spoiled rotten since 2009 with the year on year progress of the club on and off the pitch. I'm very grateful for that and I can easily cope with a little indifferent run of form. Bloody hell, we did it last season at a similar time, losing to Arsenal, United, City and Burnley. We put it right and we came good. I think I know quite a bit about football, but truthfully I know **** all really compared to someone like Ronald Koeman. He's probably got good reason to be a little stubborn (or could we say strong belief in his ideas or players) with what he has achieved and I'm going to roll with what he does, knowing that despite all his previous greatness, he'll still get things wrong. I suppose being a football fan for some people gives them the chance to moan and criticise on a topic they love, but probably weren't very good at themselves. We've had a bad run of results. It may get worse, but like last year when we had a bad run and were then faced with games against Everton, Chelsea and Arsenal. We may just turn it round. Anyway, I'll be there just giving my full support to Ron and the team. Come on You Saints.
PS. Man Utd just lost to Bournemouth, who beat Chelsea away last week and only a few weeks ago some people were discussing their next manager.. Jose Mourinho has Chelsea down the bottom end of the league Aston Villa have six points Man City drew with Villa and lost to West Ham and Stoke Super tactical Sam made his changes and lost 1-0 Swansea have ditched the man who 6/7 months ago was hailed for their highest ever points total and league position. Arsenal couldn't beat Norwich and lost to West Brom. "It's a funny old game Saint"
Probably time to do a bit of team building....sometimes it's not more training that's needed, but something a little different....a day out somewhere.
http://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/2896/premier-league/2015/12/12/18292932/- Ron saying we deserved something from the game...probably right. A one nil loss with chances to score indicates that we probably just need that little bit of luck.
Nobody has slit their wrists or fire bombed st Mary's. This is a football forum where we discuss football. Its not disrespectful for fans to question players or manager when our performance drops, its part of being a fan. Nobody is complaining that were not nailed on for a CL spot or pushing for the title. I think the feeling is that we know we can do better- we have seen it with our own eyes. Personally I think the talk of Ron being sacked is ridiculous. Although people have got a point when they say we can't keep selling many key players time and again and expect us to overperform.
Well the good news is, with the way our results are going at the moment the vultures will be circling someone else for a while, so we may not have to worry about another rebuilding exercise. In truth we're not short of quality. We do seem to lack balance and cohesion though; that can still come with time. I don't think we'll be panic buying in January. Interesting that Ron apparently wants a striker; I'd far rather see a RB myself.
Which I have countered, without saying they can't have them. When I do counter it, the bleating starts. .... This could go on all day. What makes me laugh though, is that those who continually criticise and act like it's simple, don't like being criticised back.
I think people just need to accept Ramirez isn't the player they think he is. Ron see's more then all of us and despite us struggling a little in our build up play hasn't even given him a chance. Even Poch didn't rate him. I don't get how some think Ramirez will magically turn everything around on his own, when he hasn't done anything since coming here.
