I can find any discussion of this elsewhere. Simon Clark, the Look North sports fella seems to be doing all of Mike White's duties on Humberside at the minute, and he's not Tweeted anything since the end of November. I don't get to listen to Sportstalk during the week anymore due to work - is he still on there? Just was wondering if anyone knew why the sudden reduction in his airtime.
Maybe he got a bollocking for irresponsible tweets from a poor source that couldve ruined someone's livelihood.
Matt Dean is the one that Simon Clarke has replaced, they've swapped jobs and Matt is on Look North now. I believe Mike White is actually off on sick at the moment.
He tweeted about Snodgrass' injury being worse than was being reported and we wouldn't see him until next year, if at all.
Well he was right, it was worse than was beig reported. He was expected back fully ready for pre season.
He wasn't expected back for pre-season, he was expected to get out the gym and start non-contact training in July, with a view to returning August/September. Obviously it's run later than that by a couple of months.
To be accurate, he said he'd had a setback and the very earliest he would be back would be after Christmas. He hadnt had a setback. We saw him in November. He was wrong. FACT. And it was irresponsible. FACT.
I had a quick glance back for his original tweet, but couldn't find it, I could only find the similar one from that Tully chap. I'm not sure it warrants this much ire, Snodgrass has only just returned and it is nearly Christmas, he wasn't that far wrong.
Snodgrass has been appearing on a football pitch for the best part of a month (or is it longer? I cant be bothered to check when he first set foot out for the U21s). And it is massively, massively irresponsible for a local sports journalist to tweet something about players physical condition without checking with the club. This is somebody's livelihood we were talking about. Phil Buckingham or Richard Sutcliffe would never have done that without first contacting the club. Simple as. Spin it around, what would White's reaction be if Snograss tweeted about him being missing from the broadcasts these past few weeks and speculating that he had some kind of hidden medical condition that will stop him working for the foreseeable future?
How could it have ruined his livelihood? I'd think tweeting inaccurate information would, more than likely, affect his own livelihood rather than Snodger's.
I maybe wrong but I seem to remember this was either tweeted or mentioned on Sports talk by RH, that a source close to the club had said it would be nearer Xmas before he would be back playing.
