True, he's not sure where the best coffee house is and is waiting for a top up....... the assistant manager is getting off on the wrong foot.

Port Vale turned down QPR manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink in 2013 because of fears about racism from club's fans

League One club Port Vale turned down the chance of appointing Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink as manager in 2013 because of fears their own supporters might racially abuse him.
That's the extraordinary revelation from the club's owner Norman Smurthwaite today.
Back in 2013, Port Vale were under investigation from the Football Association for racist chanting by their fans during a match against Bradford, and Smurthwaite felt it would be unfair to hand Hasselbaink the reigns.
Instead, the former Chelsea striker became Burton Albion manager and guided them to the League Two title before leaving the team top of League One – 12 points ahead of Port Vale – when he took over at QPR this month.

    Speaking
to the Mirror today, Smurthwaite said:
"I didn't take him because of the racial issue the club had got. I didn't think it was fair on him.

"Can you imagine the poor bloke getting abuse, along with the normal abuse if results were going against him?
"He would have been right for the club without doubt but I don't think the club would have been right for him.
"Ninety-nine per cent of our fans are excellent but a small minority leave us with policing and other issues."
Ally Simcock, who is a spokesperson for Port Vale fans, told the Mirror:

"I'm shocked with what he has said.I think the club has had issues with racism, but I don't believe they were any worse than at any other football club.
"There have been a minority of fans intent on causing problems and race, as well as other discrimination, has been brought into it, but I don't think having a black manager at the club would have been wrong."

    What an astonishing admission.

So he is effectively admitting to making Port Vale's Manager recruitment process, and therefore the club, persecutes people from minority ethnicity. In order to give into the club's racist "minority".

They are a club steeped in history and one I have always taken a keen interest in and privately harboured dreams of managing one day #QPR

Yeah right I believe you, what does he take us for. I wish him luck for the future but cut the crap

What great words. No better start. Let's hope that this approach is mirrored throughout the club.

I think he's exercising his right of using a degree of poetic licence. He has probably sat there and thought 'I'm doing okay at this management lark. If I ever got the chance to make a step-up what would be an ideal fit? '

    Obviously not Bolton or Rotherham.

Being that his family live in Surrey, he's probably given this some thought before now which is technically day dreaming. As well as us he has probably thought about Fulham, Brentford, Palace, Charlton and possibly Brighton and Reading. So I wouldn't say it was a lie, but I don't think we were just the one club on his dream list.
Still it's nice to see has made the effort to embrace just about everything about us. Redknapp and Hughes never did.

To be honest Jim, I thought the same as you when I read it. It was something that was probably better left unsaid. If he's said it off of his own back ( it's his personal Twitter account ) then he's just excited. If it's part of the media team's spin then it's slightly worrying. The proof is as they say is in the pudding and if he get's the results and performances on the pitch then he can say what he wants.

All the best Jimmy and also to you Jimbo. ( You're not the same person are you? ) Jimbo Floyd Ranger has a certain ring about it!

Maybe it's just us lot drowning in a sea of cynicism. With some justification.

Good luck Jimmy, time to stop with the Twitter thumbs and start with the shouting at Jamie Mackie.

Pretty sure 95% of the 'quotes' that come out of the club are written/edited by the club. Always makes me smile when each week another player trots out the 'we're pulling together' guff. They are paid to kick a ball or manage/coach the team - not fill the back pages with their pearls of wisdom. It's not exactly a totalitarian dictatorship, but I would be amazed if JFH 'actually' said any of the stuff in his twitter feed at all - certainly if you have ever seen him as a pundit the language/terminology is not his own.

Please understand that LF needs to keep himself busy during the week so good on him for being pro-active and writing up all these media posts.
Gives him something else to smile about.
