I don't want to be doom and gloom in this article but after all the debate over how much of the 35 million has been/will be spent I think there is one factor to consider. I believe if we stay in the premier league again this year and build again it will be a successful campaign. The one worry I have is the squad depth. I believe the 1st Team is strong enough to stay in the league (all be it with some players new to the league). The problem is the depth that we have outside the midfield isnt great. We have a lot of strikers but not a lot of quality. I dont see who steps up to get Nolans goals should we play 451 does anyone agree? Also cover at full back is a real issue with Raylor not ideal at right back and Ferguson as left back cover, a very good player so far but a left winger to my mind. Whats your thoughts?

I think the defence is more of a concern when you look at the players available. For example, there are only three centre backs that have any real experience (Coloccini, S.Taylor and Williamson). Enrique, who wants to leave, and Ferguson, who is injured, are the only left backs and Simpson is the only reliable option at right back.

Still six weeks left of the transfer window. If we get a couple more in we'll do alright. It's looking increasing likely that we will keep Joey and Jose for the season, but if they go we'll need to sign about four players.

Ashley likes to do things at the 11th hour, we could be having this discussion with just days left in the transfer window.

You may want to make your "article" a bit longer if you want it publishing.

The situation has been exaggerated because we have some first teamers in Holland, no way would we have this many players unavailable in the PL.
