Seen the news on how the weather has affected the club and what Carlisle's lower league players are going to do to help the local community... http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/35022506 Let's see what the Premiership Elite do to help them out. Clubs like us cannot afford events like this but football advertises itself as part of the community, so i will be watching very carefully how community spirited the big clubs are in helping their fellow professionals.
What help? What Premier League club is honestly going to help out the League 2 team that is literally sinking (if you pardon the pun). There aren't enough clubs out there willing to help out smaller teams and I doubt that Sunderland or Newcastle will rush to help them.
Just the community spirited response in regards to pamper clubs that i would expect, so when the FA talk about community support and helping youngsters, what they really mean is only the cream of le cream I suppose on recent trends in bereavement we should be holding a 2 minutes silence at all football grounds throughout the country for Carlisle United, Say a Pray for Carlise, I think i might change my avatar to their logo and hold a candlelight ritual. Oh an not to forget the good old hashtag #CarlisleUnitedWereJustNotBigEnough And once all that is sorted we should bomb the FA headquarters in retaliation (that's a joke btw).
What about Bolton ? £173M in debt - can't pay their players - can't pay the tax man - getting wound up - going into administration - getting a 12 point deduction -- so what's a few drops of water ? Oh - and the same apathy exists in other top leagues http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/35043200
I don't know if this is true but I did see something making the rounds on social media today to say that Preston had offered to Deepdale for Carlisle United to use as their home ground for the rest of December until they can clear the water. If that's true then massive kudos to Preston for it. Shame it's still miles away from the Carlisle for their fans though.
