Well I was silly enough to back Liverpool to win so clearly I didn't get that far, but it's the best performance in one of these survivor games so far, new record bitches. :emoticon-0178-rock:

To coin a phrase, do "we go again"?

Got an idea for the next version:

You get points depending on how good the team is that you're predicting will win (opponent's strength doesn't matter).

At the start of the game, divide the 20 teams into 3 groups based on their league position:

Group 1: Clubs 1-7. Win is worth 1 point.
Group 2: Clubs 8-13. Win is worth 3 points.
Group 3: Clubs 14-20. Win is worth 5 points.

So this will encourage guys to pick some of the lowly teams who they think can win that week, it's risky but the reward is worth it.
Say you pick Villa to win and they do, you get 5 points, which is equivalent to picking the correct top teams to win for 5 weeks in a row!

Option 1: Elimination method (like before)
So your overall winner may have gone out after 4 weeks, but he would have more points than someone that lasted 6 weeks if he got some smaller teams correct.

Just a thought... Because currently everyone just picks the top teams to win and the picks are very similar.

Option 2: Non-elimination method (penalty points instead)
You don't even have to eliminate people if we use this scoring system. We could say that a draw is worth -1 point and a loss is -5 points. So if you get it wrong you keep playing every week but we all see how much you suck when you're on -15 points <laugh>

You eventually need to choose every team, so there's a reason to gamble on lower teams early, but yeah last game there were many people with the same choices.

I like the idea of option 1. You still need elimination but making your first 5 chosen teams the top 5 doesn't get you very far.

Giving people negative points is @InChristmasKloppWeTrust's thing.

Pretty sure option 2 is just the prediction league I run but you've changed the points from -1 to -5 <whistle>

Possible points system and example based on next week:

    Top 5 (1-5) 1 point
    Middle 5 (6-10) 2 points
    Alsorans (11-15) 3 points
    Candidates (16-20) 5 points

    Points:
    5 Norwich v 2 Everton
    2 Crystal Palace v 3 Southampton
    1 Man City v 3 Swansea
    5 Sunderland v 2 Watford
    2 West Ham v 3 Stoke
    5 Bournemouth v 1 Man Utd
    5 Aston Villa v 1 Arsenal
    2 Liverpool v 3 West Brom
    1 Tottenham v 5 Newcastle
    1 Leicester v 3 Chelsea
