Klopp blundered today. First he selected Benteke. Ok he may have had his reasons but then surely he must have realised that benteke was worse than a card board cut out. he should have replaced him much much sooner. The lack of energy and passion in the midfield was evident and he could have pulled Lucas or Allen out earlier. Sturridge should have either started or come on earlier.

At least he admits we were ****e. And did not deserve to win, Rodgers would have waffled how the players gave their all and would have moaned that we were hit by ref errors.

  3. We obviously all trust Klopp to do what's best for the club, what other choice do we have afterall, but this is a football forum for people to discuss football (and other random ****) related stuff including the team selection on a game to game basis. To just dismiss any thoughts saying you'll leave it to Klopp makes this place somewhat pointless doesn't it? Besides, us discussing it doesn't change what Klopp does does it?

  7. There are a couple of positives from today (Ibe and perhaps Lovren) but overall its a "forget about it and move on" game really. Hopefully Klopp learns from it though.

The game was actually very similar to the exact fixture last year when they beat us 1-0. Neither team played well at all but we played at such a speed and basically thought we didn't even need to turn up that Newcastle thought at seventy mins 'ah may as well try and attack' and did with one of there first proper attempts.

Newcastle did some really dodgy tackles which could've been worse for them and even in our worst performances we scored a goal which was incorrectly ruled offside.

Our midfield had no creativity whatsoever and Benteke offered nothing. Terrible game.

  9. There was a tackle by Colocini in the first half that went completely unpunished. Having seen the replay, the commentators picked up on it and said he was lucky to escape a booking. The replay clearly shows him diving in two footed <doh>

Can't argue with the result. We were really ****ing ****e so well done to Newcastle on winning.

Thank **** we've got a game on Thursday which hopefully will be a win and try to forget about this game!

New castle came for 0:0 draw and they won. Don't take anything away from them.
Benteke should not have started that game: Sturridge should have started<ok>

7 - Martin Skrtel has now scored seven own goals in the Premier League; only Richard Dunne (10) has more. Oops.

Unfortunately, Flanno has to develop the defensive side of his game as well the offensive side, and also learn how to gain a bit of speed.

I'm sure that will come with time ...

The lack of creativity stems from the fact that Benteke is ****. Apart from lumping long balls and crosses, how do you create for him? He can't work the channels, he can't make runs in behind the defence, he can't drag defenders out wide and he even struggled to use his physicality. Even when you do put in a couple of decent crosses, he's nowhere to be seen.

Now, the creative players didn't have a great game - they were really poor, but Ibe and Firmino have both looked far better when Benteke isn't starting. The whole team has looked better when he hasn't started.

As you say, Lallana came on and provides a little spark - why? Because he had Sturridge up top making the right runs. The chance he made for Sturridge does not happen if Benteke was still on because of his inability to make those runs or run into the right space.

Benteke stifles the attack. A bid of £15m-20m should hopefully see him gone.
