Yep. Treble and Diego are fair enough since they never left. Even Stan continued to appear at times. I'd not seen UIR for ages though and then he commented (before that trio) within a minute of the final whistle #beenwaitingintgewings
He would still be here if he didn't waste £200m, played decent football, won games and then didn't buy a **** striker for £32.5m to replace Sturridge.
I think our top 4 chances come down to what we do in January. We may get close, but I still think we will finish 5th, with Man city, Arsenal, utd and tottenham grabbing the top 4.
Ahhh you're still well in with a chance of 4th imo. If Rodgers was still there then no chance, but Klopp tbf is more than capable of getting the better of Poch. Top 4 is a fcking mess anyway.
Not at all. No strength in depth. How often have we seen a new cover fade on the later part of the season. 5th at best....
He's a good player at what he does which is attack crosses. incredibly one dimensional and not suited to us. And our attacking play is completely nullified when he starts. The team has scored 6 goals in 9 games when he has started, and 15 in 7 without him. Those around him are stifled because they don't like to just cross the ball, they rather drive into the box, play low balls or through balls. His lack of movement and pressing is a big concern but not unexpected. As I say - it's not his fault. It's his natural style. He just needs a mid table team that play a certain way.
What's frustrating is that the league is so **** that if we played with the handbrake off we'd have a chance. As it is, no chance.
.. keep hearing that plus the two man team bit ... our bench is now full of internationals including the current Swiss captain and the former Polish captain. .. the current Austrian captain has only recently broken into the starting line up ... strongest squad since I first saw them in the 1969/70 season .. the chances of us finishing in the top 4 are slim ... because I'm expecting other teams around us to strengthen and gel ..but our squad is certainly good enough to continue competing and we are far more than a two man team ... don't think there is a better centre midfield partnership in the league than Kante and Drinkwater currently
I don't think being the captain of a second rate international side has any relevance to the quality of a player. I also don't think Drinkwater & Kante have really been tested yet, the only proper midfield you've played so far was Arsenal and you got obliterated at home. Let's see how Kante & Drinkwater are doing after a season or two together, not after 15 games. We've seen plenty of players like Kante before in Yacob, Tiote, Mulumbu etc. who've had a good run of form and been hailed as the next big things before disappearing into obscurity after their form dips. Fairplay to you though, you are doing brilliantly and its quite refreshing to see a different team challenging, even though I'd be really surprised if you're still up there closer to the end of the season.
