Or we buy one Fb and don't disregard the only FB we have that's actually been part of a PL title challenge.
Yep, Flanno played a big part in that. His performances were instrumental and without him, we would have struggled. And the reason I disregard him is because of his style. If we put him in place of clyne or Moreno, we lose that attacking threat. It's not like for like. We need options/back ups who we can slot in without compromising our overall style. It's similar to when Gomez came in at left back - we lost our attacking threat down the left.
So you think we should have identical players in each position? Great squad options that As I've said to you many many times before, you just don't like Flanno. Just say that rather than trying spin some bollox
Ideally you should buy the spine and be able to develop good enough players for the wings If Flanno is ready to cover LB/RB then I don't consider it a priority but would take a good player at the right price
You're right I don't like Flanno. But this is beside the point - as I said, we need options who are able to fill in without us having to compromise our style. As we've seen, we've become reliant on certain players and if they're injured, we have to change style. It's like using Benteke instead of Sturridge. Or Lovren ahead of Sakho (we struggle to play out from the back). And certainly in the case of full back, we rely on their pace to get forward and back quickly. It's a big part in how we play. And we only have two full backs at the club who are able do this. Injury to either one of them and we lose a lot.
Haven't seen too much of him to comment - but he did put in the best cross of the season. Wish Moreno and Clyne would do more of it!
He might need a decent season on loan. He was at Swindon but barely played... maybe need a year in the Championship like Ibe did with Derby.
I think even Ibe or Allen would thrive on crosses like that to be fair, inch perfect and just needed someone to get a touch on it.
I liked the look of him in the reserves but we all know the transition to first team is a big leap...especially for defenders.
Not been overly impressed by Randall so far though. Tadic had him on toast from what I saw and in the last round he wasn't great against Bournemouth either, although did improve in the 2nd half. Still young though but again, think he could do with a loan. Not really played much first team football so to come right into a team challenging top is tricky.
I'd like to see Smith given a couple of chances as sub in games when we are already a few goals up. Did nothing wrong against Saints and delivered a brilliant cross for Origi's goal.
That's what we should do with youngsters anyway and not the stupidity of what Brendan done with him to shatter his confidence. Sorry gerrez lol not Brendan bashing but it was ******ed
