It's not odd at all. It's easier to do well for a small period, but to do well for so long is a lot harder. That's why they say that it is easier to win the league once than it is to retain the league title. But you wouldn't know about that you support spurs

    You support Sunderland, FFS! <laugh>
You struggle to win back-to-back games, nevermind ****ing trophies!

He's 19 points off on his Leicester predictions and expected them to lose to Newcastle, who are playing terribly.
I don't expect their form to last for the whole season, but he appears to have some sort of mental block when it comes to them.

So when have Spurs retained a league title???

They will fall away at some point though. All the more remarkable the longer they keep it up for. They are not a2nd place squad.

You can't talk about challenging for the Premier League, as you've never done it. Sorry.
Those appear to be your ridiculous rules, so I suggest that you stick to them.

As for Leicester having a 2nd place squad, I never suggested that they did.
Getting their results horribly wrong every week when it's your job is deserving of criticism, though.

I never mentioned the pl. I don't why you did since you have never challenged for it either.

So if before the season started, Lawros predicted Leicester to be 2nd, he would have been lambasted. The bloke can't win.

It's your bizarre rule. I think it's clearly a load of nonsense, but you appear to think differently. Stick to it.

If Lawrenson had predicted that Leicester would be 2nd and he was right, then people would think that he's extremely insightful.
Correctly predicting something unlikely doesn't make you the target of ridicule. Quite the opposite.

I said league. You said premier league. Is it really that hard to differentiate?

And if I predicted some weird lizard people would enslave the human population you'd think I was a mad man. Yet if I am correct you would praise me? Come on...

Yes, I'm sure your retention of the league title in 1893 gives you an incredible insight into such things.
It's great to see such an old bloke using the internet, by the way. Or being alive. One or the other.

If David Icke's right, then he'll be seen as some sort of visionary.
As he's using lizards as some sort of dubious metaphor, not so much.

People that get things right consistently are asked for their opinions on the subjects that they're right about.
This isn't even a vaguely controversial statement.

... we might not have a second place squad ... whatever that is ... but we do have the best squad that I've ever seen assembled at the club ... the bench is now made up of full internationals ... including the current Swiss captain and the former Polish captain ... the Austrian captain has only just broken into the starting line-up ... if you count last seasons run in we have now lost just 2 games in the Prem in 23 ... against Chelsea (when they were good last season) and Arsenal ... Lawro really has little excuse other than a stubborn inability to accept that we are actually pretty good <laugh>...

Lawro doesn't take current form into account, largely because he has no idea. He is undoubtedly the most clueless pundit on TV.

We last won the league in the 30s and been mostly **** since. I'm surprised a successful club Spurs has yet to equal at least, or beat out tally.

These comparisons are pointless. Many clubs have won the league more recently than Spurs or Sunderland. Notts Forest, Leeds, Blackburn, to name a few. Where are they now??

We're still in the upper part of the Premiership. I'd rather have that than a league title to reflect on from 20-30 years ago.

If City don't recover then Leicester could go top again.
