We get highly respected managers and they underperform. We get novice managers and they don't step up. It seems to me that it makes very little difference who we get, they'll have mediocrity mixed with some highlights.

We basically cycle through a lot of a baffled looking managers, while the players decide whether they like them enough to actually put a shift in, hoping that we find the miracle man who doesn't end up with us as a grim blot on their CV.

The last miracle man was Warnock (and we sacked him at the first run of indifferent results) but there's no reason to abandon the hope that JFH will be the next. If not, he just another one for the scrapheap.

I don't mind him from what I've seen lf his punditry and imagine he's strong willed enough so wish him the best.

I think you may be rather detached from the reality of what QPR is Facto mate.

Hasslehoff's done well at Burton Albion, no question, sitting top of League 1. If he comes, he'll start with a clean slate for me and good luck to the guy. Just wish NW was 20 years younger and was staying, that's all.

Good luck, Jimmy. I think this might be the start of our progression towards world domination.

Phil Neville was already coach at Valencia, and took over caretaker when last manager got the boot - some nepotism in his brothers appointment perhaps? Probably being groomed as a Man Utd manager - maybe we should nip in with a cheeky bid before he gets too comfy over there!

What I don't really get is TF and co had their hearts set on JFH without having even spoken to him.

Allegedly. Of course they did, but to admit it before formally approaching Burton would be tapping up.

    I welcome him
My reasons are based 100% on his surname and the financial undertones

We will need to hassle banks without a doubt. Best way IMO rather than them hassle us

This. It saddens me to say it, but until the corrupt core of the club is fixed, who the manager is doesn't matter a great deal. Sure, a strong manager will do marginally better, but we have almost no chance of real progress.

I'm curious as to the deal. If it is for 5 years with no performance relate pay, I will bang my head against the wall (gently!).

Beth, did I read somewhere that Neil's wife has cancer? I hope not but if so I really do hope she pulls through!

I think under different circumstances Neil would have been happy to stay on but totally and sympathetically understand if the above is true. We all know and have someone close to us who has or even is suffering from cancer.

It was this Saturday just gone that was the 11th year since my mum lost her dignified and two year long battle against breast cancer.

Many thanks Neil for your time with us, you will always be held with high regard from the rangers supporters for putting smiles back on our faces!

So if Jimmy is to be our new coach then I wish him all the best and hope he can move us onward and upwards despite personally feeling underwhelmed by his appointment:emoticon-0148-yes:

    Come on U R's!
