I share SD's optimism, and back up my forecast of a bold, positive, victorious December. 11pts it will be! Adnams pint glass full to overflowing! Lots of encouraging signs, not quite the sweet attacking footie we all like to see, but confidence building and same flipping players on the park mostly, less chopping around. I also said Top 6 finish back in August. I can see us scraping in. A win against Boro would be massive. Forget Didsy, not with us this season...but Fraser and the Bish to come back, I am one happy townie.
Ipswich Burnley - Won Brighton - Lost Birmingham - Drew Hull - Lost Brighton Middlesbrough - Drew Hull - Won Burnley - Drew Birminhgam - Won Middlesbrough Derby - Drew Hull - Lost Brighton - Drew Derby Middlesbrough - Drew Burnley - Drew Hull - Won Birmingham - Drew Hull Brighton - Lost Birmingham - Won Middlesbrough - won Derby - Lost Burnley Birmingham - Drew Derby - Drew Brighton - Drew Birmingham Burnley - Drew Derby - Drew Hull - Lost Brighton - Lost So...We have beaten more of the top six than Middlesbrough, Burnley and Birmingham and the same amount as Derby
I think we have reason to be cautiously optimistic. We'll know more after Friday, but I would say Mick has found a way of playing Sears/ Murphy/ Pitman together, and has finally got Douglas to be playing the way he wanted in the summer. 12 goals scored in the last 4 ( and the return of Murphy with 6 in 3 ) definitely helps no ends! Bring on the Boro - they won't relish coming to Portman Road on a Friday after a cup tie. That's the glass half full viewpoint. On the negative = * Knudsen. * Gerken ( class at Charlton granted ) * Home form. * Is 6 unbeaten due to playing 3 v poor sides in part? I do think it's coming together though.
Boro were a good side last season and look even better this term as they should with the cash that's gone in there on transfers and wages, but we are starting to get some consistency and always score goals, I suppose it will come down to how we handle their top players like Downing etc and if Murphy and Sears can escape the attentions of Ayala and Co. All things considered I would take a point and be reasonably happy considering the amount of teams who will lose to them at home this season.
Yeah, promising 1st half.....outthought, outplayed 2nd. Oh well, give me 6pts...each game looks tough now! Had brekka with Sky TV man this morning. Thought Town really good 1st half. He's a Derby fan too.
SD wins it by a country Suffolk Punch mile! But I did say it would be a bold, positive, victorious December!
Last Jan i think i predicted us to win all our games as we had, what looked like, an easier run of games. This Jan looks no different but i'll be buggered if i am gonna make the same mistake and jinx things again, so i predict 1 point from Jan, hoping that............
