The League Cup semi-finals are over two legs. I have to say I struggle with the notion that the club earning extra money is more important than the club winning trophies and getting to the later stages of cup competitions. Each to their own.
The Man Hunter game is a novelty. Why risk injury to any of our best players when promotion is in our sights and failure to get promotion is going to cause us such uncertainty? We have so many key players out of contract. Would they sign a new one if we didn't look like going up? It's nearly January. Better to focus on TWS game.
About the safest one around as its the only one i think that has security there till after the match some of the others dont seem to have this . Yes they do Charge a fiver same as all the others around there
Despite it being nearby, I can't go, that's ****. I blame the **** who said it'd definitely be on the 2nd, he's a ****. We'll win.
If we did get promoted people would still say we need to focus on staying up. We'll never be in a position where the league doesn't matter.
I disagree. Winning the play-off final at Wembley & getting into the top division for the first time ever - that was the greatest moment in our history. The FA cup final was second to that. As is the League cup compared to promotion.
Of course. I'm not saying we shouldn't enjoy cup runs, but at this level they're a bit of a pain in the arse, especially when we're starting to pick up injuries and suspensions and we have no loan window to get replacements in.
It's difficult to compare the two because the FA Cup is a short term achievement over 5 months or so whereas PL status was only possible due to the hard slog from 2002 onwards. And I think we'd all agree that the FA Cup run was only possible because of our PL status. I'll look back at all 3 Wembley visits (hoping there'll be more) with equal fondness. It's the memories shared with family/friends that makes football.
Bruce and Maguire doing the presser this morning. Bruce has confirmed that he will be rotating the squad. He's considering starting Snodgrass (if he doesn't start, he is expected to play some part). Diame is expected to train today, despite his dead leg against Derby.
That's never not going to be the case though is it? The league is always going to be important. We're never going to be not bothered about the league by November. Why is it this way round and not the other? Maybe the league is a nuisance because it gives us more chance of getting injuries for the cup games.
Believe there are 30+ coaches going, excellent. Are they still leaving from the KC or have they moved to Walton Street?
Starting him would be a massive risk when he hasnt played competitive football for 16 months. Give him the last 20 and then half an hour at TWS.
**** the league, the cups are way better. Going for it in the cup isn't damage our chances in the league one bit. Winning breeds confidence, specially cup final appearances and wembley visits. Its only the flaskers who want to concentrate on the league, the types who can't be bothered to go and watch a second string. Boring arseholes the club could do without. Bruce out.
