He said: "Suarez is the big one for me. Lots of people have arrived at Liverpool and people have said 'they remind me of Dalglish'. Yet they never were because Kenny was so special. Suarez might just be the closest.

"He's got all the ability in the world and a real mean streak. He is a top player. I think he might be a bit like Cristiano Ronaldo at Manchester United. He could just take off and in a couple of years' time you might be talking about a £60m player.

    Also from the Uruguay coach....

All nice comments and as far as i am concenred if teve is worth 50mil... well...

lets just say i nthe context of downing et al, 23mil for suarez was an absolutle steal already and clubs will be queueing up if we don't get CL football. The boy is scaring so many wums they are just giving it large, calling him slow etc.

i think luis suarez is the key player and how kenny protects and uses him will be interesting to see... gerrard is yesterdays man now.

I agree with everything except that Suarez may take off.
I don't think so.I believe he is a different animal to Mascherano and Tevez. He lived in Holland from when he was in his early 20s until he was 24.So he's acclimatised to Europe, and he didn't need to be in a spanish speaking country.Holland isn't,He also learnt Dutch. He's fluent in Dutch. If he was prepared to learn Dutch and become fluent in it,he will obviously be prepared to learn English as English is easier to learn than Dutch.

He probably already knows English, Ajax players are known for speaking like 10 languages. Part of the teachings and all of that.

I am gonna get slated on this but Suarez isnt certain to turn out great. Not at all tbh.

The way I see it is he's come from that league where players can look amazing. The dutch league is a really unfair measurement of a players ability as any half decent player looks amazing.

Now Suarez has shown us he isnt just made to look good by the relatively poor Dutch league with his performances for Uruguay and he has shown a few glimpses of his ability in the PL ( that dribble v United is one that will spring to most peoples minds ) so maybe he will be a quality player. If so Liverpool will have one hell of a player on their hands.

The opposite is he could become another Kezman.

He probably does need to learn English, but he's managed so far without it,as he communicates with Lucas in Spanish and Dirk Kuyt...... in Dutch on the pitch.

or he could become our Ruud, top goalscorer, does the biz for the national team and club. or like Van Persie, bergkamp, the list goes on for the ones who came out great just as the list goes on for those who flopped.

I mean in recent years. Ruud and Van Persie spring to mind as the last players who were great in Holland and also great in the PL. VDV is another but came via Spain and Germany.

Hope he turns out well for you guys though, bout time the rest of the world was shown that the PL is the place to be for promising young players both foreign and closer to home.

I completely agree with Lawrenson about the greatness of Suarez. As a Liverpool fan I am proud to have him at our team and I have great respect for Suarez because he's still at Liverpool. He's got the talent to play for a top team like the current champions Manchester United for example, but instead he's staying with what is currently the 6th best team in England.

Thank you Suarez, you are a great asset to Liverpool FC!

My goodness you lot worried aren't you.He has already shown in a few matches he has more talent in his little finger than Kezman...that dribble against your lot for a start. He is constantly top class for his country and he will be for us.Watch out we're coming to get you.

I think he's more likely to become your Bergkamp to be honest. Sitting deeper and creating chances with intelligent movement rather than just being an out and out goalscorer. Didn't he get more assists than goals for you lot last season? Tho' I'm still not convinced that Carroll is the right striker to play off him, but then I guess time will tell...

Excellent player but you need to have more on his wavelength.

One of the many reasons why I can't understand your summer signings.

I can't understand why Man United signed a 4th choice centre-back,and a winger when its so obvious they need central midfielders, because they haven't got any since Scholes retired.

No I can't understand that either.

But if Fergie does sign a central midfielder, it will be genuine quality and not just a "good engine".
