Why do you imagine he wants to come back? He's an ambitious Premier League footballer who will have plenty of options if he leaves WBA.
I don't know if he wants to come back but I'd sooner have a rock steady lad like him than some of the prima-donna types we still have left over from the Prem
Chesters proven in both divisions, you'd have to be mental not to want him back if available. I'd love to see a Maguire Chester combo in years to come, alas it isn't to be..
But he also has less pace and isn't as good at reading the game. Chester is much better in one on one standing tackle situations. Chester would be our first choice CB right now with Dawson out.
I don't think Derby would have scored the first goal if Chester was stood in Maguires place. Not that I'm picking at Maguire, I rate the lad quite highly, but it was the sort of situation Chester is brilliant at mopping up. He wouldn't have been passed around so easily.
Cash in on Davies in January and bring Chezzy in on loan till the end of the season with the potential to resign him if we get promoted? I'd certainly go for that!
This should, if anything, prove to our younger lads that moving to the Premier League isn't always the right thing to do. I'm sure a few of them still stay in touch with Chezza and I'm sure they won't be impressed.
