As Mitrosexual said, hard to blame Steve when he hasn't been given the players. He has got some things horribly wrong though. Who would people want to replace him? Realistic contenders are: Redknapp Moyes Pearson Rodgers I think I'd go for Pearson personally, after that Rodgers. I'd hate to get Moyes or saggy chops.
We don't need 200 million. We need about 20. We're 2 defenders and a manager off a decent midtable side. We're 2 defenders a manager and a thinking midfielder away from a decent top 10 side.
Jesus Christ I think we need to broaden our horizons. If you're a player and a big manager comes in you feel like you're at a bigger club instantly. Im not asking for world class names but **** me the crap ashley employs is unbelievable
£30m-40m for the 4 players we need as a minimum IMHO. That's to stay up this season, but yes, perhaps finish mid-table next season.
Jesus ****ing hell! Pearson???!!! No way would I want him anywhere near our team, nor Redknapp, nor Moyes and nor Rodgers! Would rathe rus stick it out with McClaren
Is Clarence Seedorf not an option? I know managing AC Milan for 5 months is his only experience but he seems like he could be a good manager. The players would instantly wake up and listen I think. Obviously the right players need to be brought in and shipped out in January as well.
Thing with Pearson is just look what has happened to Leicester since he fecked off! And he only just kept them up!
I'd be happy to give him a go he's been at the highest level and worked with top coaches and managers so he will not have learned alot. At least he might be good. The dinosaurs we keep employing always fail
Pearson will offer nothing that Pardew, Carver and McLaren didn't. It's just the same sub-standard yes man type of manager.
So people want players with proven top league experience but are happy with a novice manager? Not for me. We need to accept that we can't get a top class manager so need someone with some kind of track record. I like Pearson, he doesn't dress things up and speaks honestly about both good and bad performances.
Or it could be said he set them off on this title winning form of theirs. He's signed Mahrez and Vardy for them and pulled off the signing of the season in Cambiasso last year. He also got them promoted when they were far from favourites to do so.
People want players and managers who can do the job. Pearson would exactly same as the other managers Ashley has employed and I don't think the players would have faith in him. We can't keep doing the same things and expecting different results. And by the way, I don't know if Seedorf would be good or not, but I was more interested other peoples opinions on him. I think to when Keegan came in in 1992 and turned things around and I wonder who could do that now. It's not Nigel Pearson, I know that much.
