Why are we suddenly playing like a bunch of clowns? What happened to the side that destroyed £ity and West Ham? We're playing like we're away from home!
Good point I think. Chelsea look like they're on the way back up now. A pity we didn't play them a few weeks ago
I'll grudgingly take the draw. Both sides were obviously nervous about losing this game: us, because we want to keep our unbeaten run going, and Chelsea, because a loss would have dragged them further into a relegation battle. My only disappointment is that I would have liked us to have played with less caution, because it clearly stifled us.
Silly kick off time after a 5000 mile (?) round trip midweek which contributed to a flat atmosphere and fairly boring game. Bearing that in mind I'll take a point really.
The interviewer probably had someone in his ear saying "ask jose about Costa throwing his bib"..... He bottled it!
Let's see if the media concentrate on that angle, or if they'l run, instead, with the "Chelsea on their way back" angle?
OK a draw is not a bad result but as I expected our spark was missing. IMO the traveling took it's toll and how much did we miss young Ali!
I think we're all mainly disappointed because a win would have seen us jumped over Arsenal into 4th, even if only temporarily!
Happy with a draw given the ludicrous timing of the game. All in all, a pretty cr*p game of football with neither side really establishing a rythym and giving the ball away repeatedly. Negatives: - Rose and Walker were both rested on Thursday and needed to be on top of their games today. I thought both were pretty underwhelming, picking up yellow cards early on and more or less sticking to the half way line from then on. - Mason clearly lacks match sharpness still. That or he's on his way to becoming the next Jenas (being left behind while the team overall improves rapidly). - Kane and Eriksen looked half dead on their feet. Our lack of cover for the former in particular is increasingly worrying. - Given that Eriksen has one of the best deliveries in the PL, I cannot fathom how or why our corners remain so lamentably poor. We might as well just give the ball to the goalkeeper and resume from a goal kick - at least that way our defence won't be caught up the pitch. I wonder if there is a rule where one side can waive the right to corner kicks? Positives: - Avoided a potential upset. I disagree that Chelsea are 'turning the corner'. I think they came for the draw and got a draw. Against a full strength Spurs side I think they'd be travelling home with nothing. Fabricarse, Matic, Oscar and Pedro are shadows of the players they can be. - Broken the unbeaten record which is an incredible achievement for a manger in his 2nd season at the club. - Finally kept a clean sheet - it's been a while! - We've successfully navigated what looked like our trickiest month of the calendar with 3 london derbies and 2 tough EL games including the trip to Neptune. The players now have a good week to freshen up for what is a very winnable run of fixtures in December, including the one I'm most looking forward to: Newcastle at home. - Hugo had a couple of dodgy kicks today but that save from Hazard was out of this world, simple as. He must've learned that technique from someone on Neptune. Now, over to Norwich and Swansea to keep things interesting!
A decent point today, with a Chelsea team that predominantly came to stop us, with the hope of nicking something. 13 games unbeaten and a very tough couple of weeks of fixtures finally done and dusted. - and we still remain 10 points clear of Chelsea. The players have shown resilience throughout and proven that we mean business this season. We have 5 premier league games now that we really should be getting a significant amount of points from, as other clubs will definitely be facing more difficult fixtures than us. Looking forward to seeing how the table looks after 19 games. COYS!
