I know he was playing against his old club of a million years ago, but why was the quietest person in the team Huddlestone captain last night. Zero leadership and communication on the park last night from him from what I could see. Another sign that Curtis has had his 'card marked' given he started also. Based on last night if Bournemouth come in with a £3m offer in Jan I suspect he'l be encouraged to go
I think Curtis is the kind of person to take that decision very personally. It seems like he wants to feel important and valued by the manager, and this decision probably pissed him off quite badly. I don't think he'll be here next season.
I noticed that - given that there was never a formal "handing over" of the captaincy from Davies to Dawson, Davies not getting the armband back when Daws was out - it's very hard to interpret it anyway other than a snub to Davies. Especially given how much time Huddlestone has been out of the side. Very strange behaviour given our lack of depth in defence.
Bruce must have thought he would step up to the plate with the armband but he never does playing in that deep position, if he'd been used further forward instead of Maloney it might have worked out but Bruce obviously does not want to use Hayden in tandem with him even though it is the obvious move.
The question should still be why? McG would do a better job, at least he shouts at players. Loony Jock!
Davies isn't the captain anymore, it's been given to Dawson full time. Was this not common knowledge? Not being facetious, genuinely asking.
Is that written down anywhere? Like, confirmed by the club? It still says Davies is captain on Wikipedia and that's the only place I can think of that documents the squad's captain.
Well Dawson and Davies have been playing together and Dawson's had the armband. I haven't seen it written anywhere, but there was something on the website when it happened I think.
