Maguire Maloney Livermore Anyone who thinks that was anywhere near our worst performance of the season, obviously doesn't do aways.
I just don't understand how anybody who watched that game could pick someone ahead of Maguire. He was in a completely different league to the rest of the team. I would 100% genuinely rather have him playing CM than Huddlestone. 1) Maguire 2)Maloney 3)Livermore
When abel got it he was fine, he must of only touched it 3 or 4 times in the first half, but still managed to get a good save off their goalie
Hernandez gets away with doing absolutely **** all for ages at a time. Isn't that the reason Ben Area was such a disgrace and that we were better off without him? That shot was good, but we're a team that seriously struggles to create from open play and having one of your strikers only interested when someone lays it at his feet really doesn't help. He also pissed me off having a good chuckle to himself after giving away a stupid foul in their area. The guy does a really good impression of someone who just doesn't give a **** about the team.
I usually think we're about on the same wavelength but not here. For me Abel just isn't that good at football, he's a very good finisher and he works hard, so he stands out at second tier, but once he gets to the top his lack of ability catches him out. Abel will get us 15-20 goals so that helps a he'll a lot if he's the only one apart from aguero gonna bag
He certainly can be a good finisher (although some of his misses are ridiculous, how high was that one today?) but I don't know how anyone can say he works hard. Like you said yourself he touched it 3-4 times tonight. Would that have happened with the much maligned Jelavic? He'd have battled to win the ball. Abel wants to get the tap ins and pick up all the plaudits but not do any of the work.
lets be honest - he's a pile of pish for £10 million - he only gets the tap ins because he's so close to the goal it's more difficult to **** it up
hernandez has no skill to take on a man, he doesn't drop deep to get the ball he's our top scorer this season but let's not pretend he is utter ****. cause he is he is not a player in a team who needs to work hard.. compare him to martin at derby tonight
perhaps maguire should play midfield, he gets on longsome runs but he's just a clumsy defender, he's not slow, i think he'd be more effective than huddlestone in our midfield
This is from my memory. Did you ever watch Lineker, Rush even Aldridge & Graeme Sharp could be added IMO, great finishers, but outside the box did **** all, not even 1-2's, because that was their game. He has skill, no doubt but is SB getting the best out of him by asking him to link up, come for the ball. Lineker was one of the best finishers I can remember in the 6 yard box because he got service there, with Elmo & Clucas & the 2 FB's Abel H should be getting the same service but isn't because we're not playing to his strengths, if they'd got behind their defence on the wings more than the couple they did, I'm sure we'd have had more attempts & given them more trouble than we did. Don't even go there with Jelavic! He was sulking & was disinterested when he was here, maybe because they weren't playing well & he felt he wasn't getting the ball enough? I don't know, but what I do know is, we've improved without him IMO! Battled? Doubt it, he'd have been throwing his arms in the air when he couldn't be arsed to run for the ball! The only good thing Jelavic could do now is to recommend that West Ham sign Hudds in January, or preferably now with a clause saying he can't play for us in case of injuries!
Despite the fact we had 3/4 players who had utter stinkers last night, we had 4 chances which could have easily gone in, Abel, Maloney x2 and clucas, Carson had a storming night for them but it could have gone the other way with a bit of luck and on reflection, despite being monumentally pissed off last night, after the change to put clucas lb we were completely dominant just missing that finish so not really that **** a performance. Maguire our best player, great covering considering how ****e rb and lb were, brought it out of defence well too Hudd, don't get people's anger at him last night, he didn't slow it down and he played some good stuff getting it forwards quickly Maloney, kind of loathe to put him in given the 2 chances he missed and the lack of tracking and protection he offered to the full back, but provided a good lnk to the striker and created a fair bit
Maguire No one else makes number 2 or 3. Performance was very abject - Derby really weren't a good side either.
