Even without Robbie Savage's commentary that was without a doubt one of the worst performances I have watched from the team that I have supported for more than 50 years. Never before have I seen such a pedestrian and gutless performance from a side that once had attacking footbal running through their veins. OT used to come alive at the prospect of European football - I can remember the excitement of games with the likes of Juve, RM, Inter or Munich - the atmosphere in place was electric, but now this dull, uninspiring football has killed even that. The most exciting highlight of the evening was the tribute to Georgie Best who must be turning in his grave. How ironic that we should play such mediocre football on the very night that we remembered his astonishing talent.

The sooner LVG goes the better. His methods have bred uncertainty and hesitation on the pitch to the point that the players seem more concerned about not losing than they do about playing with flair and passion. His methods are outdated and his tactics too rigid and inflexible for the modern game - what brought him outstanding success in the last few decades has proved to be his biggest failing. Everything in the game has moved on - just look at developments in sporting science and fitness training in the last few years - but LVG has stuck to the old methods that have hamstrung our traditional attacking style of play. Granted he stopped the rot, but we have not progressed as we all thought we might when he was first appointed.

If we haven't made the necessary progress under his management by now, we never will - that is a simple fact. We are not a side in transition, we are no longer 'finding our way under LVG' or any of the other miriad excuses used to cover his failings, instead we are a side that has been stifled and frustrated by his methods and style of defensive football.

I would much rather watch a side that went down 2-0 - but all guns blazing, sending wave after wave of attack than the crap on display last night.

Exactly, you don't need five seasons to rebuild a side like Fergie. These days it is months not years

We should have got Kloppyflop like we should have got Maureen. Every chav said we should have got Maureen as the best manager who ever lived when they got him. Now they realise he is not that hot as the chavs languish in the bottom half of the table.

Even your leader astroturd just a week before he was appointed believed (to use his own words): "he was completely overrrated and that his failures are ignored." <ok>

it was coming .. our stupid manager sticking to Rooney and we are too fkn slow to pile up attacks
LVG ask us to be patient bcz teams will crack . like we are deluded people !!! the more opposite team are hanging to a draw, the more they start to believe and we start getting frustrated which may lead to mistakes ...
i care less if LVG win the league this season (which i highly doubt), he need to go
as far as our CL chances, we need to beat Wolfsburg away ... I really find that difficult to happen unless PSV miss it up and lose or draw at home..

    Surely that's just a contradiction.

To you Klopp hasn't proved himself and ask what he's done to be considered good enough then nominate Ranieri! Mental.

Gary Monk was being touted as next England manager, he's now about to be sacked. Ranieri is just current flavour of the month and is in no way on this earth good enough to be a United manager, as proven by a litany of failure in the majority of his previous jobs.

Surely the point is that success in previous jobs is no guarantee of success in future jobs. Specially if these jobs are in a different country. How long before his high pressing high running game (with his silly name gegen **** blah blah) is found out and countered? he had success with City and Chelsea because they were silly enough to go all out to attack and they just countered. he's been spectacularly unsuccessful when teams just sat back and waited for them to attack.

Yet another another another toothless cowardly performance

4 of your last 7 games have been 0-0 (and you even managed to lose one of them)

That is why some of us refuse to take claims you are challenging for the title seriously

Though if a series of massive events did somehow lead to you winning the title you would certainly set the record for champions booed by their own fans the most throughout the season

Better than finishing mid-table and booed by their own fans the most throughout the season. Oh sorry I forgot, by those that are left in the ground

I hope we don't qualify. Because if we do, then we wouldn't have learned anything from this season. We would point to achievements. But if we fail to qualify, it would be clear message that we undeniably SUCK!!!

We need to qualify. We really do not need to be pissing about in the Europa league.

If we qualify we'll have deserved it, however tenuous the connection to the word deserve.

The penance of a spell in the Europa league benefits no one.

When you consider the state of our main competitors in the league, we have a squad more than capable of winning the league. In fact trouncing it. And I know plenty of Utd fans who feel the same. Sadly we dont have a manager who's capable.

Just put it in perspective. Ppl are giving this manager a free ride bcos he guarantees CL football. Nothing else. For MUFC to settle for that is ridiculous.

Don't worry you'd fail to win Europa League games as much as you fail to win CL games <ok>

A post about being champions and now a post about CL football. Two things you as a Livpl fan are the least qualified to talk about <laugh>

Kloppyflop is an overrated manager and his failures have been ignored. At least we are in agreement on this point <laugh>
