He's improved loads this season and is looking a very good defender. #nojinx or #jinx you decide.

Very controlled on the ball and just always reliable in defence. If he's the one making the challenge or block you know he'll win possession or clear the ball. Positionally sound. Seems to be coming across as the senior man in that defence and a leader. Nice gf too.

The best defenders in the premiership are Lovren and Skrtl and are world class. <whistle>

Yeh Sakho Baresi and Lovren Maldini would keep Mike Smalling, the current best CB in the league, out of your world class defence lol.

Yes. Smalling doesn't fit our style.

    We play floodgate football.

    You have a style? <yikes>

More like floodlit football... on Thursday nights. Smalling is too good for mickey mouse competitions.

So after all the millions spent, two managers since, the best defender at the club is a player signed by Fergie? That cancels out the signing of Phil Jones!

Roll back the years and hand the money spent by Moyes/LVG to the legend Fergie and Utd would be the leagues top team.

There's no value in the market so Fergie wouldn't have spent it.

    We'd still be top though.

True. Fergie would have smarter with any funds available. He was the master at signing domestic players and knowing which players could make the step up, even if Shaggy (Darren Anderton) turned him down!

He was a genius but even the most ardent/solid of Fergie's admirers would argue that in the last few seasons he could have done better with the midfielders we bought.
