I still don't think he'll win it, probablt Djocovic for me, but surely he'll never have a better chance? Cmon Andrew!!
Federer all the way, the guy oozes class. I agree though Murray will rarely get a better oppurtunity.
Is it just me or is murray too negative? He seems to just keep hitting it straight to the opponent and wait for an error Luckily for him fed and nadal are now out.
I just have a bad feeling about this semi, Ferrer to win, and lose in the final to that Serbian whose name I can't (and won't bother trying to) spell!
he's actually attacking a bit. good on the wee ginger ninja. Edge, can I ask, how the heck have you got 1,152 posts, this forums only been open a few days has it not?
edge get away from the tv, PLEASE I assume you're either a ger or a tic then. Plenty of wierd ones on those boards so not surprised you got stalked/harassed
Well done Andy, had me woried after a few wobbles. I belive he can do it for the final. If so.. shoe in for SPOTY2011?
I don't want to tempt fate but I would love it if muzza won this year. I do think it may be his best chance yet - IF he holds his nerve.
Hello Edge That was nerve wracking today and really thought Murray was going to blow it. So looking forward to Sunday now. I always feel as if I jinx Murray when I watch him as well . Murray is more than capable and would be amazing if he could win this tournament.
Just watched a replay of the match. Couldn't see it this morning. Murray still looks very fallible; I cannot see Djoko letting him off the hook like Ferrer did. He didn't seem to have that aggressive roar about him that he has when he knocks out a good player (in anything but a final). I guess one good point is that he did have a "Plan B" & wasn't one-dimensional. But the flipside of that is that his Plan A wasn't working. He won't have the luxury of picking & choosing v. the Djokor.
Murray only has one weekness in his game and that is national expectations on his back. If he can beat those demons then I think he will be well away. More power to him!
Unfortunately, I can't see Murray beating Nole. The pressure in my opinion is all on Murray. He's yet to win a Grand Slam, and with Nadal and Federer both out, there's a huge expectation on him to wrap up his first. Nole has already won a Grand Slam, so knows what it takes to win one. Besides, I just don't think Murray can beat Nole in the sort of form he's in. Murray will be playing against someone who can reach and get to everything just as well as he can. As good a returner as Murray is, Nole's serving is back to it's very best and knowing how good Nole is at returning, I can't see Murray's serve being good enough. He'll be broken just as often as he holds I reckon. Heart says Muzza, head says Nole.
I think Nole has several advantages, not least the fact he has already won a GS, meaning he has less pressure. Also he's had an extra days rest & just seems to be in better form than Murray. Having said all that I still think Murray could win, he Knows Noles' game and he likes Australia. Anyway best of luck to Andy.
