2:30 Kempton LOVCEN in his pomp would pick these up and carry them on these terms. 7's looks a fair price for this class act in this company.
A similar sentiment could be said of Indian Chief 11/1 (Betfair) Southwell 2:40 - if he takes to the track he is on a really nice mark now and the change of scenery could well work the oracle for him here now he has joined the Bastiman stable.
Sedgefield 120 Hammond seems relentless with roxyfet here and looking through the form i can see why . One of roxyfets best run was here in softer conditions . In fact all the half decent form has been in softer conditions ! Roxy gets a 7lb claim from Finian O,Toole now even though he is scraping the bottom and even gets a drop back in class. 12/1 ew 150 jebulani 7/1 ? Over and above 10/1 risky ew
Sedgefield is undulating and takes a stayer especially in soft conditions. rosquero looks to have a good chance having won at ayr on heavy ground but watching a few of the 7 runs here I am unwilling to back at 9/2 but good luck Jim not that you sound like you need any of the lady .
Chase the Spud--10/1 --3 0 lingfield-its his time of year, goes well fresh and on soft ground--fourofakind is the fly .....
Go on, I will put up Berkeley Baron at big prices in the 3.00. He was competing in big handicap hurdles last season, and he was given an easy introduction to chasing at Chepstow. He is now in a handicap and I think he is a horse who can win off this mark. If he was with his old trainer he would be half the price he is today. If he strips fitter for his return then he can go close today, and I hope he continues the return to form of Ian Popham and runs in the colours of his Paddy Power Gold Cup winner too.
Morning, all. I've thought for some time that Lendal Bridge (12.10 South) was a plot waiting to happen, and this might be the day. Tony Coyle, to my slight surprise, actually shows a level-stake profit with his AW runners, and Lendal Bridge is certainly capable of exploiting his current OR of 55 against this lot. The booking of SImon Walker looks significant, too. He's not quite the force of nature in amateur races that he was five years ago, but he's still a lot better than most of these. Currently trading (10 a.m.) at around 10-1. but the recent withdrawal of probable warm favourite Peace Lilly has muddied the water a bit, and it might be wise to give it an hour or two to settle down. The extra advantage of that withdrawal is that it gets rid of the other top-class amateur in the race, Serena Brotherton. Lendal Bridge isn't a good horse, has never won at a mile, and it probably wouldn't be wise to go steaming in. But the first-time visor's interesting and, as I say, if he's going to have a payday in 2015, this is probably it.
Those bookie chappies shortening up quite a few horses right now in Saturday’s Hennessy. Got to say the market looks as ungenerous as you can bally well get, right now, with a pair of 7/2 shots and a duo of 7/1 chances at the head of the market – combined together that’s almost 70%! And still over 4 days till 'tapes up'!
Especially now Coneygree isn't running.... market will change massively. I took a big price on Houblon the other day, hopefully he runs and runs very well.
That was why it was so topsy-turvy then. Got to say I do have reservations about Bobs Worth. Got it in the back of my mind they are running him with a view to getting a few further pounds off his current chasing perch. Then can see him going World Hurdle then Grand National. May be cynical but the barn did something very, very, very similar with Long Run in ‘13/’14.
3/1 about Saphir Du Rue is very skinny, not sure what beats him but I think there will be at least one.
Re Smad Place, by the way, no-one back him for the GN. Alan King had wanted to aim him at Aintree, and give the county its first GN winner since 1937, but the owners have said No with a capital, and I do mean capital, ‘N’.
