Hopefully the failure to bring in quality last January was a key factor to us nearly going down will bring some urgency and the players we need will follow, but for me I would expect us to have a plan in place and deals agreed in principal before January so we can get them in ASAP Charlie austin would be my first effort.
I think we desperately need a good cb a good lb and a good creative cm before a striker. With the right service I think our strikers could score the goals. Don't get me wrong Austin would be a good signing but even messi would struggle to score goals in the team. We had zero shots on target yesterday which suggests we are not creating clear cut chances.
How dramatic!! Before this game we took three points off of Bournemouth and played extremely well in the previous few games! One drastic result against the current table toppers and its back to doom and gloom! Anyone who hasn't realised we don't have the players yet to cover injuries (ie to Colback) needs their heads checking. People mention on one hand that we can't play Sissoko and Gini in the centre because of their attributes then whinge and moan that we are down to just Anita and Tiote. Personally I would have had Anita and Sissoko in the mid, with Thauvin and Gini on the wide midfield roles they have been playing. Hopefully even Mitrosexual can see that Dummett is far worse than Haidara. SM has to be given time! I will state here and now I do not want BR or DM!
And? The play overall is getting better and we now just need the results and players in! We will be safe!
I respect your opinion, however i don't see any improvement actually, even our disciplinary is worse. I think it's obvious to see the players aren't happy even in training they aren't smiling.
I would advise you go and see if you can find links so that you can re-watch the games I highlighted. I also want to reiterate that anyone who thought that after the Pardew/Carver/**** coaching set up would be solved straightwaway would be completely mistaken - I always felt it would be a full season to get rid of the ****e, bring in some fresh blood and set up new coaching ideas
I've watched them and Chelsea were poor first half, man united should have won easily we offered nothing, stoke didn't turn up and sunderland scored 3 goals. People can blame pardew and carver, however pardew is a much better manager than mclaren and carver is a better coach than Simpson.
Its true we played good football under Robson and carver who has definitely coached at a higher level than this simpson character and pardew is most definitely a better manager than mclaren
I sincerely doubt this! Like you, I respect your opinions, but we will go around in circles (a bit like Scott Parker).
Our coaching doesn't appear to be the issue it seems to be our application and overall attitude along with lack of organization. We also lack height at the back, competition for a heavily unincentivized Janmaat or a specialist left back and I don't count Haidara because he's been completely mishandled since we brought him in from the age of 19 and his progress has greatly suffered for it. Not to mention we have nobody alongside our anchorman who can pull the strings in midfield (we are yet to replace Cabaye) we have nobody capable in a wide position. Thauvin and Cabella are unsuited, Marv, Gouff and Overran are almost unskilled and Aarons reminds me of Samuel L Jackson's character in the film 'Unbreakable'. There's just much wrong and our boardroom men have either been ignorant to it or unable to identify these issues due to lack of footballing acumen. My bet is on the latter.
Think it just takes time to get the amount of players we need - the only surprise for me was Thauvin and that clearly is a Graham Carr thing with this lad!
We pretty much had a full strength side out, and if you were there yesterday, it was disgraceful. They got worse after half time, and McLaren made things worse with horrendous subs. You can't support this tit in all seriousness. You just can't. Worst start to a season ever!
Didn't really expect this reaction when I came on this morning Life as a Newcastle fan, I've grown used to our ****eness. We were very poor yesterday and Leicester were full value for their win. They just wanted it more. The manager and his ability to affect proceedings only becomes part of the game once both teams are showing the desire. We did not yesterday and its been a running theme for a few years. Ironically I watched Danny Simpson, a player much maligned by our fans, yet I was just reminded that the first port of call is effort and how much better I felt watching the likes of Nolan, Barton, Simpson, Raylor, Best, Lovenkrands etc put in 110%. It was the basics of football - effort, determination, closing down, winning the loose or second ball. We came last in all these departments. I watched El Classico afterwards, Real Madrid suffered the same fate for the very same reasons. if your opponent just wants it more, 99% of the time they'll win regardless of players. I was very impressed with Leicester, their tempo was superb. The likes of Sissoko get royally exposed by these teams. As with Pardew before him, I'm not heaping it all on McClaren, I think its foolish. The players have to show up, they have to give it 100%. Tactics etc are meaningless until then. Onto the next one but I fear for us, we lack the one thing you don't want missing in a dogfight. A bit of dog and fight.
