The return of Sir Des Champs at Thurles. Will be great to see the horse back in action and a clean safe round will be the order for the day. Mala Beach and Rubi Light should keep him honest with Lyreen Legend, Letter Of Credit and Maggio completing the line up. Moyle Park also stands his ground in the opening beginners chase and is another one with a similar absence to overcome and is potentially exciting should he retain his ability lepping a fence.
If you knew MOYLE PARK was anywhere near straight for it, that 6/4 could look huge tomorrow. But with 2 years off I'm not inclined to jump in. Hope he hacks up anyway, good to see him back. SIR DE CHAMPS probably has bigger question marks to answer. Think his injuries were more serious than MP's so even getting weight off a few slow, slow animals tomorrow, I'd have absolutely no interest in backing him. Rich Ricci nominated his FULHAM PARK as his top bumper beast. I'd say plenty of Mullins fanboys will be doing accas tomorrow, and I aint even mentioned the shortest MYSKA! Things heating up now boys, the weekend could potentially rip the antepost markets up with the mighty VAUTOUR and DOUVAN entered up
Can't wait to see Moyle Park back on the track in the Thurles opener. At the time when he was last seen, I believed he could prove to be top, top class and hopefully he returns the same horse after his long absence. Not a betting proposition though for sure. I hope Ruby just lets him pop off in front as I think that'll prove the best way to ride him.
Great to see Sir Des Champs back in action. Don't think he will have a hard race tomorrow at all and no bet banner firmly waved. It's all about getting him sound and improving for the run I should think. Mullins really happy with him apparently so hopefully he might go to a Gold Cup although with The two Dons and Road To Riches, would Gigginstown honestly go 4 fold into a gold Cup? I can see them stupidly trying to run him in the Ryanair!
Spitfire 16/1 (Bet365) Chelmsford 5:30 - Has a fair swing in the weights with both Father Fred and For Ayman on recent running to which he finished a close up 3rd at this track. Father Fred was back off a long lay-off that evening so perhaps a case can be made for him confirming placings, but Spitfire has dropped another 3lb and receives weight from both those here and should turn that form around I think. Yeeow is the interesting one dropping back to this company but at the prices Spitfire is definitely worth backing in this contest for the Jenkins/Fanning combo.
Hope Moyle Park has a nice round tomorrow too! Definitely had promise prior to his below par final run when fav?
68th outing so must be getting the hang of it. Two course runs have led to being beaten not to far and the handicapper has given him a handy ease in the ratings. Think the yard had a winner this week too. I like this spot STH, I am in!
Road to Riches is surely Giggy's ideal Ryanair horse? It's one race at a time for Sir de Champs, I'd personally say his Cheltenham Gold Cup aspirations are pretty thin looking at what's about at the minute.
The exchanges seem to think both Moyle Park and SDC are making winning comebacks judging by the market over the past few hours.
Hoping for a better run tomorrow. Step up in trip will help as they went a bit quick for him last time and that put pressure on his jumping. Ideal trip will probably be further still but we want to go slowly with him. He's come on from that and going nicely at home. He had a small issue last week but shouldn't affect him tomorrow. If he ran to the hurdle form of the first half of last year he would probably win this, taking a leap of faith he finds his old spark. 12-1, worth an ew poke.
Good luck Don. Step up in trip definitely heading in the right direction all going well, hopefully he bags some prize money at least. 'Mon Harry my sonnnn.
Only defeat came in a Grade 1 when Ruby got off saying that he pulled way too hard and he had no chance of lasting home having done it. Think he has the potential to be a leading contender in one of the Novice Chases at Cheltenham and excited to see how he goes.
