Anyone else looking forward to The Man in the High Castle? The pilot was great, and it is getting rave reviews. The first series comes out on 20 November on Amazon Prime.
I am but with my internet I am not going to stream it. Hopefully someday it will be available in some other way. The Badlands was pretty good Quill if you like that type of action.
Ain't scanned through all the posts, but Treme is a fave of mine. (Actually - I may have said so before now)
Rome. BBC. 2 series 2005 a- 2007 Totally brilliant - I was bought both box sets sndthey are out on loan constantly, everyone is amazed they missed them and are totally impressed. Real class in every respect.
Its quality was ultimately what doomed it. From what I remember at the time it was the most expensive show ever produced and was more than most movies cost to make. It was something like 120 Million to make each season.
Aye, so we get five or six ****e series in its place. It was money well spent - I wonder if it lost money?
Written by the great Philip K. Dick - 'Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?' (Blade Runner); Minority Report; The Adjustment Bureau; Paycheck etc.
I was certain I wrote that on my post, must've deleted it. As soon as I saw he'd written it I knew I had to watch it.
Of course most was paid by HBO it was an HBO show. It was $110 million per season of which $15 million was paid by the BBC. I was talking $ not pounds.
Well its not a product they sell really, they sell the whole channel and lots of shows are on it. The question would really be, did it make financial sense to cancel the show based off the 100 million plus budget? The executives of HBO later said that canceling Rome was a mistake so clearly it made financial sense to continue filming it.
I never understand this. I really don't care if loads of people listen to the music I like, watch the programs I like, watch sports I like or whatever.
