Dejan Lovren and his wife were settling in for a romantic evening. "I'll just go and slip into something more comfortable ", she said.
When Mrs Lovren returned, she was aghast to find Dejan had brought two men to bed.
"Sorry", he said sheepishly ," I just can't perform without Fonte and Schneiderlin".

    What are Tottenham FC?

I quite like Tottenham the area, as it is practically the last corner of London still resisting gentrification.Wouldn't give you two bob for the football team they've got up there though, a nasty little outfit that gives nothing back to the local community, even going so far as trying to move across the River Lea to Stratford.

That's enough in itself without going into any more detail really, but I will. I don't give a monkey's about Spurs percentages of this, that, or the other. Liverpool are very much in the same category.

Look, I don't dislike any team [said yet again]. They just don't figure in my thoughts for 99% of the time. But if I'm going to make the effort to think badly of particular teams then both Spurs and Liverpool easily spring to mind.

This maybe a natural response after they have both raided our particular talent larder in order to improve themselves and weaken us. And perhaps using some dodgy methods in doing so, as well. However, it's not working for them and I suspect we might well finish above both of them this season, which might be the perfect way to say f*** off.! Especially when they come waving the £millions again that we don't need.

I really doubt that either Tottenham or Liverpool specifically targeted Saints players to weaken us. It's a nice minor cherry on top for them, I suppose but not the reason they made the moves they did. Why spend 20m or more to gain an advantage over 1 team, when you could simply buy a better player and gain an advantage over 19?

Now that Rodgers is no longer at Liverpool, I don't dislike them anymore. Was never mad at Tottenham for taking Pochettino, nor am I that sore Pochettino left. It's unfortunate that MP knows our players and their quality and his philosophies somewhat line up with ours. But those are the same factors that made him a good manager when he was here, so take the good with the bad. I guess I'm a little bitter at the way MP left, but that's not really Tottenham's fault.

At this point, I guess I still dislike those two clubs slightly more than others because they are near us in the standings. If they were sitting 15th or 16th, I'd probably be neutral. Might even pull for Tottenham a little.

I like Spurs. I enjoy the way Spurs play under Pochettino. They also have a few English players that I like which doesn't hurt.

I don't like Liverpool. I dislike the ex-Saints players that play for them (particularly Lallana and Lovren), but they are also painful to watch. They try to play possession football but don't move the ball quick enough and take on too many shots from distance. Their fans are also deluded.

My dislike for Spurs as a club owes more to Levy than Poch, at this point.

However, as a football side? Can't dislike them. Stylistically appealing to watch, well-organized, and doing it with a lot of young players. This is their chance for a spot in the top four, and I think they'll take it.

This bit is like saying that you don't really dislike the fella your girlfriend leaves you for. She may well have chosen to leave you but I'm pretty damn sure he'd have asked her to and he certainly would have been "showing her what he's got" while she was still with you. Still, not his fault that he's digging everything you used to enjoy, is it? :)

Yes, you've found a new girlfriend who is excellent in so many ways and making you feel better, and maybe even taking you to better places, but I can't believe you wouldn't look at that fella who took your old girl and say, "It's not his fault" especially when you know just how good she was :)

Personally I'd tolerate Spurs more if they were rubbish, struggling and lying near the bottom of the league. Using FLT's analogy, this is the ex-partner becoming a success....where's the justice? I want Poch to realise that we were fantastic and he can't replicate it elsewhere...however, you don't always get what you wish for.

I think they'll finish fourth. And I think their manager is a good fit for the club (ambitious, talented, ruthless).

But there is something of the night about spurs. Their supporters are a bit thuggish, their chairman is a creep, and as a club they are contemptuous of their local community. They contributed nothing to the investment in the area following the riots in 2011, and have been holding the local council to ransom for years. All take and no give.

Tottenham will do what Poch teams do and sag miserably at the end of the season. The only reason they finished above us last year was that we outsagged the tremendous sag they managed to put on. Poch is a living example of brewer's droop.

Never liked Spurs because of their fans, going on and on about being a big club. Sorry but big clubs finish top 4. Have been impressed by Chelsea fans though (not so much by the lawyer that called pool fans scum) generally they have taken this crap season in their stride and have stuck behind the manager and players. Pool and spurs fans would be in meltdown if it were their team

It probably helps that I live in the US, so don't have the same fan issues.

Not too many soccer fans around here and of the few there are, the vast majority root for Man U, Chelsea, and oddly, Arsenal. Probably an even split between Man U and Arsenal, with Chelsea a not-too-distant second.

Among the remaining teams, Liverpool and Tottenham are the most popular. Everything else is just... a random Everton fan here, a stray Villa fan there... and most likely because they are expatriates actually from those areas. So, if you want to go to a bar to watch the game, you mostly go and hang out with the Liverpool and Tottenham supporters because there's a large enough group, and they are sort of fellow minority underdog fans.
