Pascoe will have no impact whatsoever, I watched closely Pascoe's exploits with our reserve team week after week over the years, standing very often pitch side right next to the dugouts, he is clueless......................<ok>

    If anything it just creates more problems;
    1) Monk's nose put out of joint as he has to sacrifice a personal friend (James Beattie)
    2) Makes us even more insular and parochial. Another fine European coach (Clotet....who was meant to run the academy, not be Monk's assistant manager) is let go in favour of another Port Talbot boy, Colin Pascoe (and that's coming from a Port Talbot boy....me!).
Could lead to a stigma around us in the European game, we haven't looked after our European coaches and seem to have a jobs for the boys culture.
    3) Isn't Monk supposed to be good mates with Rodgers and has praised him publicly on multiple occasions....Pascoe has just had a big falling out with Rodgers, awkward much!?
    4) ....and most importantly.....Pascoe will not have any effect on this bunch of players whatsoever and Monk will still be "in charge"

IF it's true it's a dog's mess, it really is.

FFS! Just appoint a properly qualified experienced Manager/Coach (preferably with good contacts in the game) and let him get on with it! and that includes choosing the coaches he feels would be able to help improve this first team squad.
If Jenkins and co. want to look after the likes of O'leary and Pascoe do it by giving them roles in the academy/U-21 team/representing the club in the community (co-ordinating strategy re:local football, organising trial days, scouting the whole of South Wales for talent etc.).

Frankly I'd rather see Clotet as manager instead of Monk.

Swansea City are facing further upheaval after it emerged Garry Monk's No. 2, Pep Clotet, is in contention to take over at Brentford.

Monk is scrapping to save his job at the Welsh club after an alarming start to the season and preparing for a must-win game against Bournemouth next weekend.

And the Swansea manager could lose his assistant Clotet in the next few days to Brentford, with the Spaniard understood to have been interviewed by the Championship club's ambitious owner Matthew Benham.

Garry Monk has been under pressure

Clotet, 38, is a leading contender to take charge and Swansea are already making plans to replace him with a move for Colin Pascoe, Brendan Rodgers's former assistant at Liverpool.

Pascoe has a long association with Swansea as a player and coach and is being targeted for a return, more than three years after leaving for Anfield to team up with Rodgers.

Clotet could leave Swansea this month even if he fails to land the Brentford job, with chairman Huw Jenkins keen to make changes to the backroom staff.

Swansea fell to another defeat at Norwich in their last game

Jenkins wants Monk to bring in experienced assistants to halt the slide, which has seen Swansea win only one of the last nine games, but there is understood to be growing friction behind the scenes.

Swansea's defeat at Norwich last weekend only increased the tension and Monk is now under huge pressure to beat Bournemouth on Saturday as he bids to stay in charge.

Jenkins you ****ing clown it is not changes to the backroom staff that is needed it is a change of our incompetent manger that will do the trick. It doesn't matter who is at no.2 GM and his arrogance will do what he wants anyway and nothing will change on the pitch.

Brentford in talks with Swansea over compensation for coach

Brentford are in talks with Swansea City over having coach Pep Clotet take over as manager of the Championship side, according to a report.
Brentford have been searching for a manager since September, with Lee Carsley in charge at the club as interim boss until the right man is found. Carsley has done well at Brentford, leading the team up the table. However he recently rejected the chance to go for the job himself.

It therefore looks as though Brentford have turned to Swansea coach Pep Clotet, who is assistant manager to Garry Monk at the Welsh side.

Clotet joined Swansea in 2013 as academy consultant but was promoted to the rank of assistant manager in May 2014.

At 38, Clotet would be one of the youngest managers in the English game, following in the footsteps of Monk who was only 34 years-old when he took over at Swansea.

It is understood that Clotet will be allowed to leave Swansea and his appointment at Brentford could be finalised very soon.

A manager who doesn't communicate to his players , not good .

Gylfi Sigurdsson Says Garry Monk Didn’t Congratulate Him For Reaching Euro 2016
please log in to view this image

Gylfi Sigurdsson has revealed Garry Monk didn’t congratulate him or the Welsh players in his Swansea squad after they made it to Euro 2016.

Sigurdsson and Iceland secured their place at the competition in France next summer after finishing second in their group behind Czech Republic.

And Wales did the same, as they finished off a stellar campaign by coming runners up behind Belgium.

It’s all been going swimmingly for Sigurdsson at international level, with his six goals in qualifying a major factor in them making Euro 2016.

    View image | gettyimages.com
But it’s been difficult at club level as Swansea sit 14th in the English Premier League, winning just one of their last nine games and Sigurdsson having just two goals and one assist to his name.

It’s unclear whether the Swansea midfielder will play any part in Iceland’s friendly away at Slovakia tonight – and the man himself was unable to shed any light on his club manager having a preference as they prepare for the visit of Bournemouth on Saturday.

Asked if he’d heard from Monk, Sigurdsson told futbolti.net: “No, he doesn’t really communicate much with the players.

“When we qualified he didn’t even send the players from Wales or Iceland congratulations, I haven’t heard from him – besides – the decision lies with the national coaches.”

What’s worrying about Sigurdsson’s comments are that they come during a period of uncertainty surrounding Monk’s future at the club.

Before the international break there were reports that Monk was set to be sacked by the club following their difficult start to the season.

But he’s still at the Liberty Stadium and appears to have the support of the club’s hierarchy for the timebeing.

That is worrying, thought he would at least of been a bit of a people person with the players, seems not and the power has gone straight to his head.
