Seems humble and down to earth. More Daniel Sturridge than Raheem Whatshisname. He's one of those guys, like Crouchie was, that you really want to succeed because he's a good guy. http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/spor.../ibe-debt-gratitude-former-liverpool-10423393 please log in to view this image Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers speaks to Jordan Ibe during the Friendly match at the Aviva Stadium, Dublin, Ireland Jordon Ibe admits he owes a debt of gratitude to former Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers. The teenage winger has enjoyed a resurgence since the appointment of Jurgen Klopp but says he will always be grateful to Rodgers for helping to launch his Reds career. The Northern Irishman handed Ibe his first-team debut against Queens Park Rangers on the final day of the 2012/13 season. Ibe also flourished after returning from a loan spell at Derby last season - leading to him penning a new long-term contract back in May. “Brendan put me in the first team and gave me a debut when I was just 17,” Ibe said. “Not many managers in the Premier League would do that. He helped me to come through and he’s done the same for other players here. “One of the biggest areas that he developed in my game was how I made forward runs. Before Brendan started working with me I probably wasn’t getting them exactly right. “The other thing was the freedom he gave me. As a young player that is great to have. “It was a bit of a shock to hear he had gone. With it happening a few hours after the derby game there was no real chance to say a proper goodbye. “I sent him a message. I think managers and players leaving clubs is a part of the game now. “Unfortunately, football doesn’t promise anything for anybody. There are never any guarantees.” A bruised knee will keep Ibe out of England Under-21s’ Euro 2017 qualifier away to Bosnia on Thursday but Liverpool expect him to be fit for their trip to Manchester City on November 21. After a slow start to the campaign, the 19-year-old has rediscovered his form in recent weeks. He scored his first senior goal in the Europa League victory over Rubin Kazan and also caught the eye in Sunday’s frustrating defeat at the hands of Crystal Palace. please log in to view this image Jurgen Klopp manager of Liverpool talks with Jordon Ibe during a training session at Melwood Ibe on his new boss Klopp has helped Ibe get his confidence back and now the youngster wants to kick on under the guidance of the German coach. “He obviously did a great job at Borussia Dortmund,” he added. “The fact that the young players he brought in were a big part of the success is very encouraging for guys like me. “Of course, those youngsters at Dortmund didn’t just become a little bit better either – some of them, like Robert Lewandowski, have become players who are operating at the highest level in the Champions League. “Hopefully he can help me and some of the lads here do the same. “The manager’s first few weeks at the club weren’t easy because initially everyone was away on international duty. “Then it was straight into a run of having a game every few days and preparing for the specific opponents. It probably meant he couldn’t do as much on the training field as he wanted to. “Training has been different. I think that’s always going to be the case when a new manager comes in. “I’m hoping my attributes – pace and strength and being able to go past people – will suit the way he wants to play. I’m still a young player with a lot to learn. “There is always pressure when you play for a big club. All I try to do is get my head down, work hard and hopefully earn a chance to play.” Ibe, who lives in Scarisbrick near Ormskirk, shuns the limelight but has had to get used to having a higher profile as fans seek autographs and photos. “It’s an agricultural area, not too busy,” he said. “I like the peace and quiet there. “Usually it’s kids rather than adults. For somebody to get excited about meeting me feels odd. “It’s humbling and enjoyable. I know what it’s like to be a kid looking for an autograph, so I’m happy to stop and chat or have a photo.”
Errrrrr, let's wait and see what happens if he keeps progressing and a couple of teams sniff around one transfer window soon
Even if he transfers on... He's not getting in the news for silly stunts or inhaling laughing gas. Doesn't have 20 kids already. Every time I hear about him sounds like he has his head screwed on tight. Raheem at same position in career already seemed like a spoilt brat. A very talented one but still had that ego developing alreadym
What I want to know is when you posted the title, in your head were you saying Ibe or Ibeeeee? I read his Dad is a lifelong Liverpool fan and both his parents act as his agents, so while he will support his son wherever he plays, I doubt he will be advising him to move anywhere. Listen to your Dad, young man
Breaking News : Ibe to have talks with Chelsea Jurgen Klopp has given Jordan Ibe permission to speak to Jose Mourinho's misfiring blues. Klopp is keen to avoid a repeat of the Summer saga that rumbled on for former boss Brendan Rodgers with wantaway winger Raheem Sterling. More to follow...
Ibe can be very good on his day. He has a bad tendency to be really lazy and walk around, but Klopp seems to have fired him up a bit.
