25/1. Can't resist a few quid ew . Good luck lads. Hope he runs well for you and comes back safe and sound.
Best of luck Stick. Lets hope he's good fun for you over the next year or so. In other news, I am chuffed to see Moyle Park declared for a Novice Chase at Punchestown at the weekend. I genuinely thought we'd never see him again and feared the worst. I thought the absolute world of him and am hopeful he can turn into an exciting novice chaser this season.
With regards Buzz's race it is looking a two horse race from the early exchanges between The King's Steed and D'niro and significantly some of the other horses from the big yards such as Noseda have opened big and drifted. There is definitely an Each way case to be made for Buzz as the price is so big and we know he will be trying.
Kempton 7.10 Muterjill 7-2 This price could be huge in that the horse was sent off 9-4 favourite for a Newbury maiden but the race can be written off as the horse received a huge bump at the start and was taken out wide from the group by the other horse, after this he looked to hate the ground and ran pretty clueless. If you take the view however that he must have been showing something to be sent off fav, he is trained by Roger Varian and that Paul Hanagan is coming to Kempton to ride him it is just possible he could scoot away with this.
I see he is also entered up for the Drinmore at Fairyhouse on the 29th so given he has a safe round and retains his ability he could pop up in that all going well.
I'd say that it's a hopeful entry more than anything tbh. Would be surprised if they ran him twice quick after a layoff (especially upped to a Grade 1 contest). He may not even run this weekend either but he at least looks fit and well.
Yeah it probably would be a stretch alright, a good safe round the weekend will be all they want and get him back in one piece to give them something to work on. I'd actually forgot all about this lad until your post so looking forward to a cracking weekends action even more so.
2.00 Bangor Dare Me 14/1 If staying the 3m distance on his first try at the trip, I think the bang in form Venetia Williams has a great chance of landing this contest for the 4th time in the past 6 years with her 11 year old charge Dare Me. A relatively lightly raced for a horse of his age, Dare Me has been a solid stick for his trainer over fences and I think he comes here off a workable mark of 143. A horse with an excellent record fresh, Dare Me was in the process of running a big race on his seasonal reappearance at the start of 2015 when a faller at the last in a good race at Cheltenham (had recovered from a very bad mistake mid race) and I certainly think first time up is a very good time to catch him. Like so many of Venetia's horses, Dare Me is proven in testing ground and should relish the prevailing conditions and I'm sure he'll be spot on for this valuable early season prize. As shown by her excellent record in this race and from my experience, Venetia Williams is definitely a trainer who targets specific races with her horses and given that Dare Me is her only representative you've got be confident she fancies his chances. With Liam Treadwell taking the ride for the first time, stamina has to be the big sticking point on his first try over this far but he comes from a good family with plenty of stamina in it and I think he'll be ok. Given his trainer's record in the race, 14/1 looks absolutely huge for this 11 year old gelding and if seeing out the trip adequately I'm confident he'll run a huge race which will hopefully enhance Venetia's fine record in this contetst.
Shake The Bucket 20/1 Dundalk 8:00 Really well handicapped horse at the moment, he has been mixing some flat turf runs in with hurdling and chasing with little/mixed success. He get's in to this 47-65 handicap off a mark off 60 and as such it makes him really well handicapped on all known form especially at a track where he has 6 wins to his credit. His last win at Dundalk was off a mark of 79 to put into context how well he's treated right now. His last visit here, he raced off 67 and was beaten just 4.13 lengths into 5th of 14 but the handicapper has dropped him 7lb for that suprisingly to give him some reprieve and a definite chance to get on the score sheet at his favourite venue. I really hope Niall Madden has him spot on for it and it isn't a tune up for a hurdle/chase down the line (has no other entries) as he's most capable in this company of winning and it's as good a shot as he's had for a while. Betfair sportsbook are best priced with 20's, Boyles are as low as 8's with 12/1 generally being shown by most firms. Huge discrepancy there and a good each way bet for me at the 20's.
Thanks chaps, will be tuning in from Mexico! It does look a 2 horse race...: as stick as alluded to Attwaters record with 2 year olds isn't great (being positive!!) but doubt he's had many as nice as buzz so hopefully he has a nice introduction tomorrow, enjoys it and learns a lot.
With Venetia in such good form I have done all 7 of her runners in a super heinz, 120 bets @ 10p and pays £40,000 (I can dream) A more sensible bet is the Dickie Johnson double of Monbeg Gold & Roll The Dough who should both score comfortably @ 6/5
Good to see you back ROTO - best of luck with your selection today. Best of luck also to Stick will be watching. Royal Boy reappears today after that early fall on Saturday. I fancied him to give Simonsig and Co a challenge so this race should be easily within his grasp today currently 7/1.
