Best victory for a while. Amazingly solid defensively, good in possession, working hard and broke when under the cosh giving the opposition worries at the back. Sunderland poor, however great team performance. van Dijk man of the match again?

That's a good win. It was tough but we deserved the win and never looked in danger.

Well I thought that was a masterful bit of clock-running-down at the end, apart from Virgil going on the rampage.

That's quite a satisfying win. Nothing spectacular but grinding out a tough result can only be a good thing.

I might make Pelle my MoM today. Such a hard worker and so many clever little passes and flicks combined with great hold up play.

Good professional performance and three golden nuggets in the bag. Sunderland never looked like scoring.

Special mention to MOTM VVD (again - imperious), Clasie who just gets better and better, the ever reliable Davis and an excellent all-round team performance from Pelle.

Valuable 3 points...type of game we could have lost points. Not as many goals as we would have liked, but put it away and move on. Why are we suddenly getting yellow cards whe we used to be such angels...bit of fire in the bellies or last ditch stuff?

I'll be honest, I was worried about Dusan taking the penalty. Pantillimon was playing well and at 6"8 I honestly thought he was the overcat, but that was a peach of a pen. Man of the match for me was Juanmi. Unplayable. Miaow.

Sunderland fan has text in to BBC and saying that it was much better from Sunderland today, if that was the case I would be very worried!

Indeed. Ronald went berserk when he did that. :)

Takes away his MOTM award in one fell swoop. Clasie, Davis or Bertrand for me. Can't make up my mind which.

Enjoyed that, apart from the last 10 minutes. There's some great football in this current side which is pretty pleasing on the eye, thought VVD and Pelle stood out for me but difficult to pick a MOTM?
Thought Sunderland were as poor as any team I've seen this season, me thinks their doomed.

Thought the midfield was quite tidy today in a game where things could have gotten sloppy very easily.

It was however a superb penalty.

Well that flushed out a ghost, last year at Burnley Bertrand tripped, up steps Tadic and we lose 1-0... I had a minute where I crossed everything!!!

Yes. Pundits in the TSN studio were saying it was a better performance too. Thought Saints were worthy winners though. Talked about that Sunderland could have been happy to get a point against one of the top sides.
