I don't know who would be a good appointment I just hope we conduct a proper interview process and make a decent choice for once!
Christ!! Pearson I can't stand and Dyche isn't far behind for me!! I have a horrible feeling that a certain Tim Sherwood is being lined up.
This! I've been saying for at least a couple of weeks that although Pearson is a repugnant character, he comes across as just the right type of manager that our club needs - won't take any messing about from the players, and has a decent enough track record (just hope he doesn't bring his son with him......) Question will be as to how much his contract will cost - hopefully cheaper than Tim Nice-but-dim, who will no doubt be heavily linked with the post too with his connections to SLF.
Sounds like all the proposed replacements are a car crash waiting to happen (why does that sound very QPR right now?). In my opinion we need to identify a manager who is not on a downer and just been through a period of failure - that will not inspire our squad, who seem on a downer themselves (eg Sherwood). There are a few managers who have been mentioned, Robinson; maybe even Warburton could be tempted back to London. But it's hard to see why they would leave 'secure' roles to join our crazy and unsettled club. Colin is the easy option to take us to the end of the season, but I wonder if he has settled into semi-retirement now, but could be re-ignited to take it on. I have missed his comments 'if I'm honest'. I can understand the shouts for Pearson. He did a good job at Leicester and the fans liked him - even if he did have a bit of a basket-case period at the end (thinking about it, he might scare a few of our players when he starts to twitch) and he finished on an 'up' keeping Leicester in the Premiership - if that's considered a success as he had them at the bottom too. My gut doesn't feel comfortable with his appointment though - that said my judgement has been crap and led with my heart rather than my head. So get him in!! It's a mess and we need to have Sir Les, Hoos, Bhatia and Colin as part of the interview process and selection. And after all that, we all pretty much know that Sherwood is the one that Les has lined up. A manager who lost all his games this season. Very uninspiring for fans, players and club and likely to end in floods of tears and wholesale changes throughout the club.. as Les will have to fall on his sword if his choice fails again.
Neil Wannock put us back on the map with the best off the wall football we have seen for 20/30 years I hope he gets a chance to do it all over again Pearson Lambert Sherwood are what? ... Just names to me with crap CVs QPR to me has a heritage of romance NW I believe gets respect from players Faurlin will now play Traore could return why not Mackie Adel please please please Derry in as assistant Hill also Austin as the new HH There is a chance of stability here Hope they take that 4-0 Saturday
Ok, I've changed my mind .................. can we please have Warnock as coach and Redknapp as a senior adviser, who in turn, will strongly consider everything Les Ferdinand suggest, who is taking direct comment from The Tonz, who happens to be on the phone with the Mitals who are quite partial to Sherwood who is now ready to offer himself and Ramsey as the complete package! Not sure what to make of this?..................... welcome to the club!
Anyone but Sherwood!!! I would rather place the club I love in the hands of a vengeful ex than have to see 'I'M TIM SHERWOOD' show.
Rosler, pearson, brian mcdermont, sherwood, lambert, zola, clough, francis, rogers, moyes, ainsworth, barton (player manager),di-canio, to name but a few.
I won't complain if this is the case, see my OP And if the "but it won't be Tim Sherwood" line is correct I will be well happy! QPR ready to look at Ian Holloway as next boss after Chris Ramsey sacking 10:39, 5 NOV 2015 UPDATED 10:39, 5 NOV 2015 BY PAUL WARBURTON Hoops pile up the candidates with dozens applying for vacant post - but it won't be Tim Sherwood please log in to view this image Ian Holloway QPR could pave the way for Ian Holloway to return to the club that sacked him nine years ago. Chris Ramsey was axed on Wednesday night following a string of indifferent results, and within hours the club had more than 30 applications. However, there is no move to appoint Tim Sherwood, ousted by Aston Villa last week, and in the frame for the Rs job in February. Rangers insist they intend to stick to the new order plan of a streamlined budget that demands the next man in has to work with slender means - and with the squad he inherits. please log in to view this image Hat-trick - but not this time: QPR director of football Les Ferdinand, flanked by Chris Ramsey (L) and Tim Sherwood Chairman Tony Fernandes ruled out Sherwood 10 months ago because the former Spurs boss wanted hefty resources to keep Hoops in the Premier League. As Fernandes said at the time: “it would have been daft not to speak to Tim, but we want to go in a different direction now.’ That means someone steeped in the rigours of Championship football allied to cutting costs. Holloway was Hoops boss from 2001-2006, in which time he hauled a cash-strapped Rs out of League One mire and back to the Championship. He was fired before he could walk when Leicester showed interest in the former Rangers player, and is available as is a lengthy list including Chris Powell, Alan Irvine, Nigel Pearson, Alex McLeish, Paul Lambert and Shepherd’s Bush born Stuart Pearce - all with second tier experience on their CV. The club will look to appoint someone as soon as possible, so he has time to work with his new charges over the two-week international break that follows Saturday's game at home to Preston. Part-time coach Neil Warnock steps up to the plate for the clash with North End. But another former Rs boss has made it plain he doesn’t want the job on a permanent basis. Not least because the 66-year-old lives in Cornwall and a hands-on daily operation demands he uproots his family back to London. http://www.getwestlondon.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/qpr-ready-look-ian-holloway-10390708?
Yes to Pearson, Laudrup, Di Matteo No to Sherwood, Rodgers, Holloway. We seriously need to get it right or we will find ourselves in the mire.
The article says that there were 30 applications already in. How many of those are members of the QPR Not606 board?
Nigel Pearson and Sean Dyche are the only british candidates that i can approve. I really hope that Warnock stays until end of the season and then find a younger hungry foreign manager to start from the empty table.
I cannot understand the 'love in' with Holloway. Short memories guys. I have never seen the ball in the air so much when Holloway was in charge. He has proved in recent times that he is League One manager at best. Very limited and can only play one way. Good for us at first but isn't the answer.
Aussie - I fully agree with you. I would certainly keep Warnock for a (longish) interim postion. He knows the Championship, has a BIC track record of promotions from this division, and is already on-board! He is certainly experienced and should get "the best" out of the current players, plus it would be interesting to see his results. Then the board can choose the correct long term candidate dependent upon the position and results. Should we go for another approach, then Tim Sherwood is a definite "no"! I would probably go for Pearson. But as already stated, I personally would give time to Warnock.
