I think this could end up being almost as humiliating as that infamous match against Barca (the one where Bendtner tripped over his boot laces, attempting, what would have been, Arsenal's only shot on the Barca goal).
The bad news is, with Dinamo Zagreb leading 1-0 against Olympiakos, this consigns Arsenal to the bottom of their group. Surely it would be better for everyone if they got dumped into the Europa League instead?
They'd only need to beat 1 of them to qualify for Europa - win both and they are in CL (with better H2H).
3-0. This is turning into a bit of a humiliation. Arsenal have injury problems, but they were predictable. Wenger should've addressed it in the summer.
The goons are an embarrassment, Representing the premier league, "best league in Europe" and they are being ****ed over at will. The commentator saying "douglas costa wants a shot" sums up the game. if a Munich player wants to score, they score. easy as that!
...and Czechoslovakia. I'm gonna run out of countries soon unless the Gooners start trying. The only Arsenal comparison with Brazil is the SEVEN the Germans got against them last year.
68% possession, 15 shots, 10 on target v 1 off target shot. It's like if Arsenal were playing against some lower league side, like Sheffield Wednesday... no, wait, not them...
I predicted this - again! It's the same every year, with the exception that the utter humiliation has come early, this year! Already I feel soiled, and we are barely halfway through the game!
Arsenal are the Jonny Bairstow of the CL. They often look great domestically in an environment where they are familiar and comfortable and their skills are generally better than the opposition, but take them out of their comfort zone against more capable, skilful and savvy opponents and they get found out most times. The flaws in their game are isolated - some lack of pace and mobility in defence, insufficient quality in central defensive midfield and a lack of closing down/pressing/general awareness when the opposition have the ball. For the past 10 years under Wenger, Arsenal have only been capable of reaching a certain level - which has perenially been good enough for 3rd/4th in the PL and last 16/last 8 of the CL at best - but not beyond that.
We can learn something here. If you've got them on the ropes, keep them there. Don't let the ****ers come back. Something we do far too often...
The bookies have already started to cross out any potential loss from fans that bet on the goons winning the title.
