While Ellandback is late I thought of three key Monday morning topics to kick the week off... Steve Evans has told the YEP that we are 5-6 players short of being a decent Championship team, who are the first 5 you would like to see replaced. Tomorrow night against Cardiff we have Bamba suspended and Adeyemi unavailable against his parent club, plenty of choice available for the midfield position but Bellusci or Wootton shows how short we are at the back. This week we should find out what Cellino's asking price is, I have a strong feeling it is going to be ridiculously over priced.
Morning Ristac and co. Not sure how many players Evans will get in January. Managers keep saying its a hopeless time to try make signings. At least the ball is rolling with club being sold but I'm not convinced we won't get another shyster, but we can only hope yet again
Morning all Wooton will come in I reckon as Evans seems to be another manager who rates him. I hate playing Cardiff.
Morning Eire, I think Evans is looking at two loan signings before the emergency window closes. Thursday night hit home how we lack quality all over the pitch and that we have nobody to bring off the bench who is a game changer. I did wonder if it was the coaches fault and that just maybe the players were not that bad, it was all Roslers fault, on Thursday I realised Rosler was a little hard done by as there isn't a manager on earth who could have got three points out of the shower I witnessed. Morning Bucks - My money is on Wootton as he signed him on loan and I notice he was on the bench on Thursday. Maybe Wootton will do a little better at CB than he does at RB but I doubt it. I wouldn't mind seeing Sloth in the starting line-up, goodness knows why every coach keeps on leaving him out.
ristac... i think you might have inadvertently answered your own question on sloth... every coach keeps leaving him out. Maybe he's just not very good, or not playing very well. He's scored a few recently for the u21's but from what i've heard, performance wise he hasn't been pulling up any trees. I actually don't believe we are totally devoid of quality. Away from home we have outplayed some of the better teams in this division and more than held our own against others. However, we can't force a game, and get hammered on the break at home. We don't have a cutting edge, we have a soft underbelly and we lack leadership. Clearly these are serious issues that i'm not underplaying. The team needs a spine, we're not useless 1-11, though we've done a good impression of it at times.
Afternoon everyone... Sunderland midfielder Liam Bridcutt is the player Steve Evans is in for. Not a done deal yet. #lufc

Little baffled by this signing... We have something like 8 centre mids in the squad... central defence and up top would have been a priority for me. However from I've seen of Bridcutt I do think he'll improve the team. Him and cook could be good together!!
I do too Elland! I actually sit near him in the stand and he attends every game with dad and his mrs, can't help but feel for the lad...
Cant be a whole lot of use if thats where he sits and cant even make the subs bench and thats after nearly half a dozen coaches binning him
Think hes related to Elland. He calls for his inclusion in the team almost on a daily basis despite never having seen the fecker play
haha I guess I just feel for him cos i see him at every home match lol Bridcutt the answer? Not so sure... Can't even get in a struggling Sunderland side.
I don't know anything about Birdcutt, but I do know that we need a leader in midfield. Someone who puts the fear of God into the opposition, and our team too. A Barton type. Perhaps even Barton himself. Bamba has been a huge disappointment as a captain, but I can't see anyone in our squad who can pickup the armband.
Agree on Bridcutt but Im afraid thats the calibre of what we can expect in these loan periods and January as well, players who cant get into teams near bottom of PL. Ive watched Sunderland a few times, including yesterday, and they are woeful
