Bolleaux. I wasn't expecting a reasonable, constructively worded reply. Please don't do it again! I agree with you. I don't see CR as a manager in the Arsenal/Chelsea/Man U way of organising a club. He's no Arsene, Jose or Alex. Who at Rangers, I wonder, IS the person who fills in the gaps between what a First Team Coach does and the old-style Manager does?
I'd tear that up and throw it in bin Stortford. I see every reason that Ramsey will be a good Manager and now with Colin he's got someone with experience of getting out of this League to help him. I see improvements in the individual performances all over the pitch under Ramsey, even last night with Phillips game on the left, and Hall and Luongo's improved performances.. What I haven't seen is them playing like a real a team, gelling. Think it needs some new signings in the back 4 at least before that will happen We all need patience, support and at Board level. I doubt TF has it and won't be surprised if he doesn't make another wrong decision and tread all over the small shoots of improvements that Les and Ramsey planted last summer.
Agreed that we need patience with regard to longer term rebuilding but for the life of me I don't see why we should have to wait for an experienced coach to respond to the evidence of his own eyes. Yet again we failed to have any possession in midfield and our players were totally unable to counter the pressure on the ball applied by just about every team in this division. As a result we look like a park team hoofing the ball down the wings on the off chance one of our wide players isn't offside. Last night we ended up with two strikers neither of which got a sniff of a chance once Austin come on - there was simply no service to them. And what is Ramsey's response? Does he bring on the one player in his squad capable of holding the ball and playing a through pass? No, instead of Faurlin we get another winger running into dead ends. I don't claim to be a great tactician but anyone with half a brain can see that the current plan simply isn't working and a decent set of players are being wasted due to the wrong game plan being used every week. If Ramsey can't see this he really should go.
Do you think Ale is better now today than Toscer? He was a disaster last game for us. Perhaps he'd have been better than Toscer if fit enough, but I can't see them both playing in our midfield together, they are too slow. If Ramsey made a mistake with his subs yesterday it was taking Luongo off and going 4 4 2. After that it was pure hoof ball as you say. But Luongo never woke up after half time so I partlially understood him being taken off.
I think that the corner flag is more influential on the game than Tosser. I think that Henry can have a run of extermely poor games but continues to be first choice in midfield. I think Matt Phillips is having a laugh but is Ramsey's go-to player. I think Onouha gets a little bit more incompetent every match and is totally uninspiring but is club captain. But Faurlin makes a few mistakes and is sidelined for weeks while his team is crying out for a creative midfielder.
Agree with most of that. Ramsey either has a blind spot about Faurlin, can see that he's not the player he was due to all the injuries or he's protecting him. Not sure what it is, but we are crying out for someone with his class in the middle of the park. Oh how I miss those Tarrabt days!!
You have to ask what influence does Warnock have with Ramsey? It's been well documented that Warnock rated Faurlin as his key player, has Ale really lost so much from his injuries? Tozser and Henry are cart-horses in comparison, so there are questions as to what is going on behind the scenes. Whatever it is, it's leaving the team playing like strangers and we're gonna sleepwalk towards the drop zone...
I had no problem with CR bringing on a winger after going two up top, it was a logical step, that it didn't work was hardly his fault. Maybe without Clint's injury we might have seen Doughty or Faurlin. Ref CR's performance overall I am a bit between two stalls, on one hand there is team selection and problems with subs but as Oslo points out there are some brighter spots and if given more time and a less hostile fanbase we might get somewhere.
I find myself asking whether we're playing this way because that's the instructions that Ramsbottom has given, or we're playing this way despite Ramsbottom instructions to the contrary. If it's the former, then our coach is a talentless arse. If it's the latter, then either the players aren't listening to the coach, or the players aren't good enough to carry out the coach's instructions. Ramsbottom doesn't look too special whatever the reason, does he? The only way you'd begrudgingly accept this tosh of a style is if the team was getting win after win this way.
Toscer was the only player who looked like he passed more to his own team than the opposition (other than Henry but he passed forwards only rarely), so I agree his influence wasn't great because everyone else mostly passed the ball back to Brentford.
Don't worry - I've run out of considered posts now And I think that the answer to your second point is probably rhetorical (sadly)
Careful what you wish for ! I too think Ramsey is out of his depth but Tim Sherwood is another unproven manager. This is one of a few tweets from people in media mentioning this today.
Just when my mood had improved somewhat following Jurgen beating Jose, and a long and tiring bike ride, you've ruined it again Windsor!!
Jesus ****. It's a concerted effort to make me empty the wine rack. If he does deign to grace us with his presence it will be a Hughes like doing us a big favour thing, it'll look good for 8-10 games then fall to pieces.
What does this Lee Hoos do again? He must be a effin pilock to speak to Sherwood, Unless he wants out already.......
Oh dear. Surely not Sherwood!! Assume they are trying that by demoting rather than sacking Ramsey. Don't think Sherwood's any good and keeping Ramsey will probably keep his favourites who are the source of the problems
Nevermind the Ribena manager, most of our players are friggin Lydl's own brand!....I dont think even Fergie would be able to do much with this lot!
I'd be livid if I was an established manager who had worked his way up only to see these unproven people walking into top, well paid jobs and failing. I don't want Ramsey and I definitely don't want Sherwood. Personally I would like Warnock to bring some real managent sense to the club instead of these chancers.
