Certainly is easy, when you have to play Getafe, Malaga and Bilbao every week! <ok>

How did we blow it? By improving?

Blowing it is selling some of your best players to your rivals, spending a load of money on crap that can't make the first team and languishing just above the relegation zone!

Or Real Madrid, Valencia, Atletico Madrid, Seville or Villareal.

And just for the record Getafe, Malaga and Bilbao are no worse than some of the sides Chelsea have lost to this season:biggrin:

Thats because Chelsea are playing like utter **** mate.
    No real puzzle there.
Real and Barca's ridiculous advantage over the rest of the league in arranging their own TV deals, ensures that La Liga will remain slightly more high profile version of the SPL.
Even Atletico or Valencia popping up once a decade to nick a title can't help it.

I agree the TV situation in Spain needs looking at, however he got the better of Real Madrid more often than not, and they where spending a lot more money than his Barca side was. Even Mourinho struggled to stop Peps Barca, when he was at Real:biggrin:

Thats because, like SAF in 92, he was lucky enough to have half a dozen awesome players come through the Youth Academy. Thats not to say SAF's successes were solely down to that, he kept United challenging long after most of 92 lads had bailed, on a much cheaper budget than most considering Uniteds spending power.
Guardiola on the other hand, was given a team that pretty much has a 50% chance of winning the league every year anyway, and on top of that, given youth players like Xavi, Iniesta and Messi.

It wasn't down to luck that those players came through our academy, when Fergie took over he hired more scouts and invested more in the youth development system, and it payed off. Had another manager been there those players may have been snapped up by other academy's. Beckham and Giggs certainly would have been anyways. Becks was poached from London, and Fergie himself went round to Giggs's family home to persuade him to join us rather than City.

As far as Guardiola and getting lucky with the youth players that came through, who coached those players in Barcelonas academy before they where promoted to first team action? Guardiola did. That's why the team instantly responded to him when he took over the first team, as the key players already liked and respected him

It already has been addressed and effects Spanish football from 2016.

Chelsea and Real's Jose finished Pep off in April 2012. Barca had won 15 on the bounce heading for another treble until they met Rambo & co.

They lost to Jose at home in the Camp Nou and were finished off by Chelsea. Season over

Not debating that Pep isn't good at coaching kids.
Its his tactical nous I am questioning.
You could have put Wilson from Castaway in charge of that team and it still would have mopped up most of the trophies on offer, purely because they were a different class.

  10. Woah! Woah! Woah!

Steady on, boys! Don't get too carried away, here!

Here's some news in, hot off the press...

Former Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is being lined up as an interim manager at Chelsea - should they fire under-pressure Jose Mourinho. (Belfast Telegraph)

Alternatively, Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is preparing to replace manager Mourinho with former Blues boss Andre Villas-Boas. (Metro)

So, which one of these two would you boys like to see take over at Chelsea? True, Rodgers was a clown at 'Pool, but he did manage to get them 6th or 7th spot most years, which is more than Jose is looking capable of, this season. <ok>

Anyone looking to replace Jose is a clown. A few bad games does not a season end. Things will turn around and it's a matter of circumstance and a few things happening at once making life difficult for Chelsea. I'd take Jose over anyone everyday. He's been right every time in all of his decisions. I'll let him make a few more thanks.

If he's not coming to us because of ****e football he's not coming to you either. Don't talk absolute rubbish about how you play amazing modern football. It's ****e, just like ours.

Rodgers gets some unfair treatment IMO. I mean he should have a league title at least but they were unbelievable to watch. There is nobody even close to playing football as good as that in our league at the moment.

It may be ****e, but it's still a possession based style of play, so it would be far easier for Guardiola to coach us to play his way.

I'm not saying that I enjoy watching the way we play, I prefer Fergies way, but we do keep the ball better than any side in the Premier League. The possession stats don't lie

No Diego but Chelsea fans have been touting his name for a while as the remedy for all the club's ills.
