Whilst I enjoy the debates, it's not opinion, it's fact that DD is one of the leading centre mids in the premier league this season, even neutrals just need to watch match of the day to see that and listen to the pundits, and Kante is without doubt a top half centre mid - which Livermore isn't. Vardy is being looked at by Real Madrid and the fact his ability is even being discussed with championship strikers is insulting not only to us and England but also to the premier league. If you think for one moment that wes, who was in the championship team of the season and captain of a 5th place premiership team who also finish lower-midtable last season, is on par with the ageing centre backs then you need councilling. And then there huth who is better than wes!
Whether our players would "fit into your team" or not, the fact is, if one was to pick a combined XI out of Leicester and Hull players, only one or two of your sorry mob would get in. We're better than you, that is an undeniable fact. Meyler may have scored 2 goals in the Championship this season, congratulations to him, but he is an absolute mile behind Drinkwater, Kante, Inler, and even King. Again, Chuba and Hernandez are doing well in the Championship, well done... So you wouldn't replace them with Vardy and Mahrez then? You lot are just so deluded it's unreal... "We was too good to go down, we shouldn't be here, I swear" You got relegated because you deserved to get relegated. Leicester are a better team than Hull, just admit it and move on
Don't try it Ed... If only we had Robertson instead of Schlupp and Fuchs... Meyler instead of Drinkwater... Chuba and Hernandez up top over Vardy and Mahrez, we'd be even higher... Most likely top of the league and unbeaten
Get a grip son, Morgan is the same age as Dawson (a former England international) and is older than Davies. He's nowhere near as good as either of our lads. Also, being captain means **** all. It means he's got a great personality and leadership qualities, it doesn't make him an amazing footballer. We could name Greg Luer as our captain, does it mean it makes him better? Ian Ashbee captained us from League 2 to the Premier League and was nowhere near our best player in terms of ability. Drinkwater is ranked 27th in terms of passes, 22nd in terms of touches and isn't even in the top 50 for tackles. Not sure what you class as leading, nor what colour medal you get for coming 27th. I wasn't comparing Vardy to our players, I was simply stating that I wouldn't put him in our team because he wouldn't fit our style of play. He isn't that good that you could drop him into any team and he'd be the same he is now, I mean how many did he get last season? 5? He suits you and that's great; I saw the 'being looked at by Real Madrid' thing and had to laugh because I knew it meant your fans would be asking for £40m fees and comparing him to the world's best players. Because he's up there with Isco, Ronaldo, Benzema and Bale isn't he?
Wow, you took the time to look at Drinkwaters stats? One can only imagine that King Meyler must be topping all those stat tables in the Chumpionship Regardless of the stats, he's been described as they key to our success, was highly praised on Match Of The Day, and was described as "the complete midfielder" just a couple of weeks ago. Shove your stats up your arse to be honest
Aannd there it is, the uncanny ability of Leicester fans to see through nothing more than blue and white tinted specs. Of course you're doing better than us, we're now a league below you. The difference is, we know that. When we were above you, you lot were moaning that you were better than us then, which was laughable. I wouldn't take Vardy, no, we've established that. Mahrez probably, if he cut back on the diving (our Elmo does it and it ****s me off something chronic). I suppose a fairer question would be, which of your players would fit straight into the first teams of any other Premier League teams? Over the players that are already there mind, not just guess work. Of course, Danny Drinkwater would waltz into the Arsenal line up, we've established that and Wes Morgan could really help out Chelsea at the moment. We know that. But your other players. Oh, and try not to be bias, I know it's hard, but please try.
Why do you keep dragging Meyler up? Nobody has bigged him up, I certainly don't rate him as highly as some of our other fans. Mind you, you're pretty good at overrating midfielders. All hail king Drinkwater. Ah yes, stats, the burden of proof eh? He's average, deal with it.
*sigh* Honestly, I give up. It's like pulling teeth. We're 5th in the Premier League, we have better players and a better team than you Deal with it!
... the point that Sterling is attempting to make - on my reading of it - is that our familiarity with our own players inevitably leads to bias - which I accept - Ranieri has publicly stated that Vardy, Mahrez and Schlupp are not for sale at any price ... that is because they are our currently most marketable assets ... whilst Sterling prefers Robertson the reality is, that outside of Hull (and Wizard ) . .Jeff Schlupp's current market value might even be double that of Robertson... just football economics ...
I just find the idea that you'd only take a few of our players laughable. You would definitely be in the minority in wanting Robertson over Fuchs or Schlupp.
Nope, when you were above us, you were playing the arrogant arse on our board... I thought I'd return the favour it's quite fun, actually! You wouldn't take Vardy, and only "probably" Mahrez As I said before, if we asked neutral fans to make a combined Hull and Leicester XI, you would be in the absolute minority not including Vardy and Mahrez
That quote about Vardy and Mahrez takes the biscuit! If you were to make a combined team, there would only be two positions up for grabs (so as not to make it entirely Leicester) and that would be right back and one centre back as Huth would be in there. Schmeichel would be in goal and Fuchs or schlupp at left back (yes we have two better options). Midfield and Forwards entirely Leicester, there's no way anyone from Hull gets in. Hernandez was a flop in the premier league, Sterling questioned Vardy's 5 but that what Hernandez did. Difference is Vardy is not leading goalscorer in the prem and Hernandez is an also ran in the championship. There's a reason Spurs offloaded Huddlestone and Licermore, they're not good enough. Even the combined bench would be mostly Leicester!
We haven't got any average Championship players, we've got a Premier League squad playing in the Championship. Ironically, we've got a better squad this season than we had last season.
Ok OLM, genuinely, what would the break down of a combined team be in your opinion? I feel your view might be more balanced that Sterling Archers
I don't know enough about your players to make an accurate judgement on who's got the better player in each position, so it would be rather pointless, I suspect if I did I'd have more Leicester players than Sterling, but less than you. It's also more important to have the best team, rather than the best set of individuals. On paper, Huddlestone and Diame are our most gifted players, but neither are currently in our starting XI, because the hard graft of Livermore and Meyler is more effective in the Championship. In my view, Hull City were not relegated last season due to a poor squad, the squad was easily good enough to stay up. Our problem was being desperately unlucky with injuries (too many key players were out too long), but far more significantly, the negative approach of the manager cost us too many points.
That's a balanced post and the comments about the best team is exactly what we say about ours. Clearly few of our players are world beaters on paper and aren't household names but the team spirit makes them a stronger unit. Another example is the England and Wales teams, Wales are a better team. We couldn't ask for any more from our midfielders and strikers which is why we say we wouldn't take anyone from your team. It's defence where we leave some to be desired so that's where you are stroner
Oh dear Here we go again with your deluded nonsense. "We didn't deserve to go down last season, we only went down because our manager was crap" Absolute gold. What next? Chelsea deserve to be top of the league, it's just unfortunate that their manager has now lost the plot?
