please log in to view this image Monday 2nd November 8pm White Hart Lane Premier League A big win at Bournemouth with Harry Kane getting back in the goals, but we need to follow it up. No midweek game this week, so I've no idea why we're playing on Monday, especially given our Europa League commitments. Another dopey choice by the fixture committee, as we were definitely going to have to play the following Thursday. Kane's taking a mini-break with his missus though, so it might be used wisely by the manager. Villa have followed Liverpool's precedent and sacked their manager just before playing us. Their form's been nothing short of appalling though, so I can't say that I blame them. Sherwood may well be in the studio for this one, as the media will lap that sort of thing up. The new man is yet to be announced, but I suspect he'll provide a morale boost, whoever he is. We lost the equivalent fixture 1-0 last season to a Benteke special, having nicked a win at Villa Park. He made up for a stupid sending off that cost his side the first game and it's something that we should learn from. He's not with the club any more, but they've still got a substantial aerial threat in Rudy Gestede. We've not been cutting out crosses well in recent games and he'll thrive if we don't do it in this game. Lineups for the last league game: Spurs: Lloris; Walker, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Rose; Dier, Alli; Lamela, Dembele, Eriksen; Kane. Subs: Vorm, Trippier, Wimmer, Mason, Onomah, Townsend, N'Jie. League form: WWWDDW Villa: Guzan; Hutton, Richards, Lescott, Richardson; Bacuna, Gueye; Ayew, Grealish, Agbonlahor; Gestede. Subs: Bunn, Amavi, Crespo, Westwood, Sanchez, Gil, Traore. League form: LLLLLL Referee: Arsenal favourite, Mike Dean. Villa have a League Cup game on Wednesday at St Mary's to contend to before this one. If they get a new manager in before that game, then it might give him time to assess his side. Could be a useful one for them, considering their awful form. Do we need to make any changes, assuming that everyone that started the Bournemouth game's fit for this one? Should we take the Anderlecht return leg into consideration? Does anyone need to be dropped or has anyone earned a shot from the bench?
Moyes will arrive to bore us all ****less in my opinion. Same team with hopefully Son fit enough to be on the bench
Fuksake is that it HBIC? She ain't no Charlotte. Oh and it's because I'm not Into social media much...like to keep it old skool, or maybe I'm just old.
I ain't no expert in the ways of women (as mrs rcl and my 2 daughters regularly point out) but your dream girl is unlikely to fall for your charms if you use acid to melt her current fella! Just saying
I saw my first game at The Lane in Aug 1953 v Villa. Can't remember a thing apart from us winning 1-0.Own goal,I think.....and Danny was playing for Villa!
It does actually.Danny Blanchflower having a chat with Roger Bannister about Danny's life. That was in 1961.
Played for both - David Ginola, Darren Bent, Wayne Rouledge, Alan Huttinho, Colin Calderwood, Jermaine Jenas, Robbie Keane, Brad Friedel, Kyle Walker, Peter Crouch, Steve Hodge, Luke Young, Danny Blanchflower, er......probably more, but not Stewie
According to his Wiki page: "Paul Stewart became Liverpool's second striker next to Ian Rush after Dean Saunders was sold to Aston Villa." So basically: He only played regularly for Liverpool thanks to Aston Villa. QED... That's more than good enough for me
A question to test even the most saddest (sorry dedicated statistician) The win percentage of teams with their new manager sitting in the stands watching the game?...as thats what we're facing, Remi Garde, Wengers first signing as goon manager and now faced with trying to keep Villa in the league, a team that sold their two best players (Benteke/Delph), replaced them with championship standard players and they wonder why they are rock bottom. Or have I just set myself up here, with Villa ready to end our unbeaten run?
So we playing tonight and Thursday...what a load of ****...we should have been playing on Saturday. But hey don't let ****ing Sky and their money get in the way of European success. Hope England loses its 4th CL spot...****s.
Unchanged line up from Bournemouth, makes sense. Bench is a bit ropey though, Fazio's on it and N'Jie has presumably joined Son on the sidelines so not even any sorta-strikers to bring on.
These players have had a week off, most of the players have had a trip away somewhere to relax, we should be able to cope playing these 3 games all of which are all in London. I think our players may be even fresher than arsenal come Sunday, as I think Poch may change things around for Thursday night where arsenal will be getting the run around in Munich.
Not always a good thing as sometimes they forget to come back and play as if they are still on holiday
