Just starting to feel human again after that mammoth session on the piss on Sunday.. started out at 9am straight from a night shift before the game, and rolled in the house around 3am on the Monday morning. I had to do a 12 hour night shift on Monday night which was a massive struggle. I'm getting too old for this malarkey and will not be doing the same in the future..

    A poll on the Chronicle website;

"Fans have voted whether former Sunderland chairman Niall Quinn should be allowed to commentate on matches between Newcastle and their North East rivals.

Quinn played 203 times for Sunderland between 1996 and 2002, scoring 61 goals, before he became chairman of the club.

In October 2011, Ellis Short, the current club owner, replaced Quinn and the 49-year-old started commentating for Sky Sports in 2012.

ALSO READ: Wear-Tyne derby gaffe as Newcastle United's Chancel Mbemba name is spelled wrong

Football fans have now been voting in our poll as to whether they think Quinn should be allowed to commentate in the North East’s biggest rivalry clash.

Speaking ahead of the match, he said: “Derby games are the sort of place where everything gets thrown out of the window, and it certainly won’t be as place for the faint hearted.”

What do you think? Have your vote in our poll."

Anyone got any spare straws ? please give generously and send to Newcastle upon Tyne

Its getting embarrassing now - na its not <laugh>

Niall Quinn is one of the most biased pricks I've heard like. But I don't really mind that, I enjoy his commentary, decent passion. Be nice if they balanced it out with some Newcastle-love though <laugh>

I must concede "Speaking ahead of the match, he said: “Derby games are the sort of place where everything gets thrown out of the window, and it certainly won’t be as place for the faint hearted.”"

Bias as f**k that like <laugh>
The point I am making is that there is no stone left unturned in this whingeathon

I thought he spent the entire derby repeatedly saying how crap we were and didn't deserve to win, all throughout the second half even. Fair enough Niall but you don't have to say it over and over again, two or three times got the point across.

My wife suggested that he was trying too hard to be impartial and went too far the other way, a bit like that fake happy/excited voice that Gary Neville puts on when City or Liverpool score against United.

Aye, agree with that! I've always thought Alan Shearer has done the same with us on MOTD (****, where's me crash helmet?)

Tbh I didn't hear too much of what they had to say post-match on Sunday. I was too busy dancing around the pub garden <party>

That view makes it look more likely that Fletcher may have getting a toe end onto that before the keeper, if Collocini wasn't there he may have beaten the keeper to it. However it would be difficult to describe it as being a definite goal scoring opportunity because he wasn't in control of the ball. Definite penalty but a red card? Grey area, so probably not. Surprised it was rescinded mind because its not exactly clear cut that the ref made a mistake. Cattermole's handball is unavoidable, the foul (if it was a foul, again, grey area, about 50/50 for me) was more like obstruction so an indirect free kick would have been awarded? Daft by Cattermole though...he could have given a penalty away there! Would have had no complaints if an indirect free kick had been awarded, and if it had, we wouldn't have had our penalty and the town would have gone on to win 3-0.......whoopsies!!!!

I don't like Quinn as a commentator and it's **** all to do with my United vs City bias, he's just a ****ing plonker who never offers any professional insight, he just says what he sees which I've always believed to be the commentators job and the co-commentators are supposed to offer analysis.

Nowhere near as bad as the BT Sport lot mind, ****ing hell, they come in 3's nowadays with Hoddle as one of the 3.

    Quinn doesn't like us anymore.
Said he was leaving to pursue "other interests outside of football" - football pundit/commentator is not outside of football, Niall. I know you're Irish but, ****, not THAT Irish.
Was indifferent when we signed him, devastated when he retired, delighted when he came back and gutted that he left again. Think he should be focusing on his horses instead of stating the bloody obvious. i can see what's happening. how about some bloody insight from an ex-pro?

Best get it on quick. He may not be showing up when we play his beloved barcodes but big gay al secretly loves us. i barely ever watch MotD, always the derby wins which she-ra is never around for, but i do recall a few seasons ago he praised us more than newcastle. hasn't happened recently but we have, admittedly, been poor.

Quite the prophet there QBQ. Be careful. :emoticon-0142-happy

Nags would have stood a better chance on sunday if these guys were playing. they have a decent rhythm, they're relatively coordinated (until the end) and everyone finishes the performance.

Last weekend he wasn't too bad actually, compared to usual. He certainly has been in the past though. Perhaps Sky had a word and told him to be impartial and he tried too hard? Shearer does the same with us all the time.

Done us a favour. Wij can now play more centrally where he is much better.

Few of your fellow fans would surely object to that? You took our best player apparently, and he's come on 'leaps and bounds' too. Surely they wouldn't be seeing this injury as a plus. ;) :p

I can't legislate for idiots mate <laugh>. I think their reaction was to is getting him for free. Truth is, for both of us, he should be a back up player. The fact he isn't, speaks volumes. Tiote (bar one season), Anita and Colback are piss poor CM's and the fact that Wij is not in there where he should be is offensive. Those 3 really aren't PL quality anymore and a big reason why you were able to sit back and wallop us. Regardless of how "comfortable" we looked, the game plan was evident and something I said you should do against us.

Biggest problem is, Colback aside, I don't think a combined North East side would stay up! I feel for Sam and Steve. Both haven't been left with amazing squads. Perhaps I am being too negative (you guys are like cockroaches during a nuclear blast) but I see teams like Stoke, Swansea and Leicester ahead of us and it isn't right. We have become fhe joke of football, not the hot bed.
